Some of these prices are absolutely stunning. Sadly, none of these were on my target list, as I already have a fully-capable EF-equivalent and continue to use my EF bodies. I’m hoping these lenses come up during a refurbished stock replenishment.
Still, there’s so much good stuff here that I may have to reconsider my long-term plans.
As an update, this really did change my long-term plans. I had been eyeing some of the EF lenses going on clearance-level prices. At first, they weren’t on sale. Then they were. But the RF sales were so enticing. I ended up going with the RF 24-70 f2.8, which I had not even considered as one of my long-term lenses, since it was always going to be out of my price range. But with a nearly $900 price drop, and a need for something like that, it became a no-brainer.
I had been looking at the EF 35 f1.4 ii, but because of the 24-70, I ended up going with the RF 35 f1.8 instead for my 35mm prime. I may end up coming back to the EF 35mm at a future time. Only time (and great sale prices) will tell.
RF 24-70mm f2.8 at $1300 is so damn shocking, best deal by far
Oh no, I think that belongs to the 50mm f1.2. A whopping $800 off!
great deals, grabbed the 50 1.2 and R5
I am torn between R6 and R8. Can some one give me some thoughts.
At these prices? Buy both!
is R6 same size as R. I like RP size so much. R8 is not discounted much as it is new i guess.
both are great, R8 has better AF, but the R6 is a steal at this price. Personally, I would grab the R6
R5 gives extra $200 discount on kit lens. But it is still bridge too far.
R6 uses the better battery than the R8. So if battery life matters, the R6 is your choice.
R6 wins over R8. I got it at doubled priced. Sadly.
I am broken after got 3 big RF lenses. Never thought they are on sale at the same time. Price is very attractive, and I am done lens shopping for next 5 years.
Which lenses are steal at these prices to grab?
Pretty much all of them! The 28-70 f2 and 50mm f1.2 are both about $800 off. The 15-35 f2.8, the 24-20 f2.8, & the 70-200 f2.8 are all at fantastic prices. All together are too rich for my blood, and I’m still using my EF equivalent adapted, but man these are so tempting!
Agree. Everyone is good. Need to prioritize the purchases.
24-70, 50 1.2, and 28-70 are great at this price
I got 70-200 F2.8L, 15-35 F2.8L, and 100-500 F4-7.1L. I have been watching them for whole year, and price is right now for me. Still too much. :p
I’m most surprised by the RF 24-70L, since $1299 has been the “clearance” price of the EF lens refurbished. Didn’t expect to see anything close to that tonight.
Thanks for the comment. I did not track it, but price is good. Considering and struggling. LOL
Your comment here really tipped the scales for me. I ended up going with the RF 24-70 instead of my previous choices. Thank you!
The prices are completely unexpected. I was hoping to get the R6 at its 1300 summer sale price, but ended up with a $2700 R5 kit!!!
Just snagged the r6 mk2 and rf28-70… my original plan was only the r6 mk2. But at these prices I just could not pass up at the opportunity to own one of canons best lens.
I gave myself a $2000 “well maybe if it’s that cheap” price for the R5 and they came awfully close.
Sadly or happily I already own every lens on that list I wanted/need
I slept and missed the 50 but the 70-200 after a trade into Keh means I’m upgrading my EF70-200 to RF70-200 for $450. Very happy
First and foremost – thanks to canonpricewatch for the great work you do! This sale is amazing! Got an R5 and picked up a 24-105 f/4L with $200 off for the pair). That lens for $499 – are you kidding me? Incredible! Thanks again and happy shopping everyone!
Awesome deal. The best camera deal out there today.
I bought it without $200 discount as there is no discount with R8. Is it still a good price? Canon stopped discounting this kit lens.
$699 for that lens is still an awesome price.
Thanks for the info. It is $200 cheaper with R5. But that is too much of a camera for casual use and bigger. Canon some reason moved up the price on this kit lens and only pairing with expensive cameras.
Still a great price for that lens!
Dang, didn’t see the R was 799. No IBIS right ?
Hey Canon Price Watch, do you think they will restock the Canon R6?
They already did, earlier today, and it was available for about 45 minutes.
I know! I was bout to buy it but as I was checking out it went out of stock
