The 10% discount is shown in cart once the item is added to the cart
I ordered the 17 TSE a week ago and received it. Is there historical evidence that the Canon store will refund me the difference based on this 10% off now? Or do I have to return the one I have now and buy it all over again?
They will do a price adjustment within 14 days.
Thanks for the quick reply! I’ll try calling the number on the back of the invoice tomorrow morning. Hopefully, that’s the correct one. Thanks again!
And the 100-400 is still out of stock…
Selling mine brand new factory sealed from adorama 1700. Has Canon carepak also.
I just ordered 35 1.4L II 3 days ago. Should I order another one and return the previous one for this discount?
The Canon Direct Store typically will do a price adjustment in 14 days. Not sure if they require the item to be in-stock or not. Give them a call.
Thank you, it works! I got my refund for that 10%.
I just called Canon CS and they mentioned my refund will come through in 1-2 billing cycles. I asked for an email confirmation but they said “Canon does not do that.”
That seems like a super odd comment to make. Has anyone had issues with the refund not coming through, thereby making the customer eat the price adjustment? Has anyone received written confirm of the refund?
They refunded me about 4 weeks after the transaction for a very small adjustment required – very similar to yours – promo code didn’t get accepted at the time of the transaction. I never got any sort of confirmation.
Thinking about the 300mm 2.8 II
Sadly, not in-stock.
It’s really hard to get a telephoto lens from store. 99% of the time they are out of stock.
You can try signing up for a notification at our site, we’ll e-mail you when we see a lens in-stock. Our readers are fast and they normally sell-out within a few minutes of stock.
10 % is nothing how about 25% off thats more like it for a rebuilt lens
Not a rebuilt lens. Many of these lenses are store returns, that have been re-examined/re-tested, then sold as refurbished. Many readers report that they’re indistinguishable from new. It comes with a 1-year Canon USA warranty.
Agreed. Must have bought like 6-7 Canon refurb lenses over the past six months and I can’t tell it from brand new, besides the box. The lenses I have bought from Canon range from cheap (e.g. 35IS, etc.) to expensive (e.g. 600L).
I can confirm when I’ve asked Canon about them in person, that they’ve said that almost all of these lenses are store-returns.
Think of it a different way – even if they were dismantled and re-built. Do you think Canon would stake their reputation for quality on a shoddy repair? A repaired lens will get at least as much, if not more scrutiny than a new one.
Buy with confidence – They come with a 1 yr warranty, just as a new lens would and they should come with all accessories that a new lens would come with. All that is different is the box. Nothing is free. If you want a really deep discount, buy used from ebay etc and take the risk.
Why are they charging sales tax now?
They’ve always charged sales tax to almost all states.
Yeah, sales tax is a killer but can still save a few hundred bucks depending on what you purchase.
Woohoo ordered the 35L and 50L. Switch to prime will be complete once I sell my 24-70L and 70-200L 2.8 II. Any takers?
