Amazon Prime Day: Canon PowerShot Zoom Monocular $248.99


One last deal to close out Amazon Prime Day: Amazon is discounting the PowerShot Zoom by $51 to $248.99. A cross between a camera and a monocular, this unique device is image-stabilized and features a 100-400mm equivalent focal length and a 12 megapixel sensor.

M50 Mark II ($599), Speedlite EL-1 ($1099?!) Announced, Preorder


Canon announced the EOS M50 Mark II (in body and with a 15-45mm kit), as well as the Speedlite EL-1. Both are now available for preorder.

Oddly, the Speedlite is the more intriguing announcement of today. In an age where photographers have gone with affordable, off-brand flashes, Canon has gone the other way with a $1099 “1 series” light, featuring a xenon flashtube and a rechargeable LP-EL lithium-ion battery pack. Very interesting!
