Thank you! Was about to get a used tilt-shift lens from KEH but this sale is just in time!

What about the 50% off sale that happened a while back? Think it’ll come again for ts-17?

    1. March 21, 2019 at 4:12 pm EDT

I don’t know that we ever will see that on that 17mm ts again. If you need one to shoot with for a purpose, I wouldn’t keep holding out for it to drop to that price again and just get one as soon as you can afford it. If you don’t need it for a purpose, then maybe just rent one and see if it is everything you thought it would be. Then if it ever is that price pounce!

Even at that crazy good price it was a still a pricey, mostly specific use lens. I know I would have grabbed one myself if I could have, but then in the aftermath I was like “dude, how often would you even use it?” Answer, probably not enough to justify owning it. But I don’t know what it is you want it for, so if it’s what you want/need, then whatevs.

Was it 50% off that specific lens? refurbished? That would make it $850, I’d buy one and re-sell it for $1300-1400 pretty quickly.

It was something like that. It was insane how good the price was. Also, they were gone by the time anyone even knew it, so it wouldn’t matter if you were getting it just to flip it, since it was very unlikely you would have had a chance to even do it.

That’s crazy. The best regular deal I’ve seen on refurb is 20% that rarely popped up 4-6 years ago when the economy was worse and probably sales slower.

The refurb clearance sale that included the TS-E 17mm was really a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. There were 5 in-stock and it lasted 20 minutes — which is surprising, because the price was well below the going used market rate.

CPW notification subscribers purchased 4 of the 5 lenses.

Ha! Ok I missed that 50% sale because I needed the 24mm TS-E and that wasn’t on the list so I never got notified. Should have just kept active the daily alerts of all sales πŸ™‚ Well…at least I got it this time. Jumped on it the minute price alert showed up.

Wow. I was just wondering when they’d bring back the refurb sales. Snoozed on the super-teles though πŸ™

Those were some good prices. But even then still too much for this mere mortal.

Thank you, was in the market for a used 7D mark2 and got a refurbished body instead. I’m a happy camper

I just got !5% off a refurbished EOS 5Dsr. The Canon site was really slow so they must be busy with orders.
