Full agreement. Sitting around for days, hoping that at some arbitrary time something will go on sale (for pre-tariff msrp) for a 5 minute window. Hard pass.
The 2024 sale was even fewer and an even shorter window on Black Friday. It was so short and so low-stock it was practically non-existent. We had to wait until the end-of-year sale that dropped on December 27th to finally get the Black Friday sale we were all hoping for. Sure, it’s not as big or as spectacular as 2023, but it’s not going to be as long as the ridiculous and arbitrary tariffs are in place. And I suspect Canon rolled it out early (as have many other retailers been doing this year), to get ahead of the nationwide Black Friday/Cyber Monday economic boycott.

I was hoping for a way better price honestly but I guess inflation and tariffs are here to stay.
It’s hard to ask for a better price when it sells out within 10 minutes. Even if the prices were $100 higher I’m sure it would still sell out within an hour or two. (Canon, you didn’t see this comment!)

Not just bots. I got an rf 50mm f1.4, the 28-70mm f2.8, and an EL-10 just for grins. Hoping the EL-5 goes on sale again.
