What are the chances we see something with the RP?

I don’t see any changes coming up. RP body only is $969, RP with 24-240 is $1429, both with free adapter. The RP with 24-240 just sold out too, it’ll be back next week — which is why it’s not in this post.

When do you think we will start seeing discounts or refurb 400L III lenses?

Discounts are unlikely as Canon almost never discounts their supertelephotos. Refurbished lenses typically show up 1 year (on average) after a lens release, which means we may see a refurb soon, although it’s always slightly different for supertelephotos.

The price will be $9,599.20 + tax for the refurb (Canon sets the price to 80% of brand new). Depending on which state and which tax, it’s not far off our street price of $10,699 with no tax.

Wow thanks for the detailed info! That lens is a pipe dream right now as I need to sell my 500L II first to fund part of the purchase.

What about the RF 24-240 by itself? All of the other new Canon gear seems to have a deal available, but not the lens.

Nothing that I’ve seen. Regular price is $899, and our street price is $20 off that … nothing to write home about.

Any chance we will see a price on the RF 50 1.2 similar to the deal back in June?

Unlikely. We weren’t kidding when we said that one was hot!

Bummer. I bought the 85 at that time so buying both at once would have been tough. What are the chances of it coming down to that price but without the grip before XMas?

I’m not aware of any new deals planned by Canon between now and Christmas. In the last eight years, there was only one year where Canon ran additional savings *after* Black Friday.

It’s the 100-400 II pricing pretty much what you guys normally have for street pricing?!?

If by “normally”, you mean after the October 24th Canon instant rebates (which I pointed out would be THE holiday prices), then yes. Some of these lenses haven’t seen a price drop since the holiday rebates started. Our prices are always good 🙂

Are any of the street price dealers running any deals on Rebels, such as bundle deals? Literally asking for a friend. She purchased a T6 from Target with the 18-55/70-300 + basic Canon shoulder bag for $399. Not a bad starter kit, but in my opinion, she overpaid. I know there’s traditionally been some very hot deals on Rebels post Black Friday that always sell out quick.

No street price deals on Rebels this year.

The only Rebel deal that I’ve seen (surprisingly) is the T7 refurbished; two-lens kit is $430, which is decent.

Adorama’s M5 + 15-45mm for $349 was probably the better value deal for an entry-level camera.

How about that EOS R/RF 35mm 1.8/EF adaptor deal– could we expect again, ever? Was the one, had I the cash.

It may be back next week, although we have a long waitlist that we’ll go through first before offering it publicly.

When does Canon typically start the big sales on their refurb store?

Typically they would start before Thanksgiving. Didn’t see one this year yet…

Thanks. That’s the one I’m keeping an eye out for.

do you think any of the third party retailers will have a lower price on the RF-15-35 soon? the street price is getting closer to what I want to pay.

We’re not expecting any lower prices on that lens between now and the end of the year.
