B&H Puts a Date on Next RF 135mm f/1.8L IS Shipment: March 3rd

UPDATE: B&H‘s site no longer says “estimated availability March 3rd”, which means they’ve likely sold out of their next shipment.

If you’ve been patiently waiting for the next shipment of RF 135mm f/1.8L IS USM, you’ll be excited to see that B&H Photo Video has put a date on it: it will be available on March 3rd. We expect the supply is still very limited, and likely only a limited number of orders can be accepted with the March 3rd availability.

Your best chance of receiving this lens within two weeks is likely to order today from B&H for $2099.00. We don’t see dates on other dealers’ sites, but typically Canon does ship to all dealers around the same time, so there’s a chance other stores may have the same timeframes.

EOS R6 Mark II and RF 135mm f/1.8L Announced, Preorders Live

Canon USA has announced the EOS R6 Mark II ($2499) and the RF 135mm f/1.8L IS USM ($2099). The camera will begin shipping in late November 2022, with the lens only showing up in late January 2023. They’ve also announced a new Speedlite EL-5.

The preorder links are beginning to go live at various Canon USA authorized dealers, and we’ll periodically update this post.

EOS R6 Mark II and RF 135mm f/1.8L To Be Announced At Midnight

All signs are pointing to an announcement of the EOS R6 Mark II and the RF 135mm f/1.8L IS USM at midnight tonight. We cannot confirm pricing at this time, but the rumor consensus is the camera will launch at the $2499 price point — the same as the current minimum advertised price on the EOS R6.

We speculate that the camera will be shipping in 2022, but given all the continuing shortages on EOS R3 and R7 we think there will be low supply for quite some time. We’re expecting that pre-orders will open with the camera announcement.

Check back after midnight ET, when we post the latest!
