The 5 Hottest Deals in the Canon Refurbished Cyber Monday Sale

If you haven’t yet seen the Canon Direct Store‘s super-hot Cyber Monday refurbished sale, you need to get right on it! Check out our post summarizing all the deals, the refurbished stock tracker, or go directly to the Canon Direct Store.

The deals in this year’s sale are tremendous, some of the biggest we’ve ever seen in the refurb store, and definitely these specials are intended to clear-out some of their older gear and make room for the new. Many of the items are limited in quantity and selling fast, so please don’t miss out on this opportunity!

They are all amazing prices, so it’s hard to go wrong, but here are some of the very best (and most popular deals) in this sale:

  1. The “Little RF White Lens”: RF 70-200mm f/4L IS USM ($1099.00)

The RF 15-35mm f/2.8L IS USM for $1599.00 and the RF 50mm F1.2 L USM for $1699.00 are close, but the best “big” lens deal is the RF 70-200mm f/4L IS USM, which is discounted to $1099.00. This lens retailed for $1799 new as recently as October, this is a $400 refurbished discount on top of the $300 Canon holiday discount for this lens, a 39% savings. It’s also well below the previous best $1349 refurbished price (which was already 10%-off). A true steal.

  2. The “Fringe” RF Lenses: RF 600mm F11 IS STM ($399.00), RF 85mm F2 Macro IS STM ($299.00), RF 24-105mm f/4-7.1 IS STM ($119.00), and more

These lenses were always not very popular due to their awkward price points ($300-$700), but with refurbished + holiday stacking discounts bringing these lenses to less than half of the usual regular price, these lenses are no-brainers.

  3. The Older RF Bodies: EOS R $899.00 (free battery grip, bag), EOS RP $599.00 (free bag)

If you’ve been waiting for a budget option to get into R-mount, or if you simply just want a low-cost backup camera, the R and RP are now discounted to the lowest levels yet. The EOS R is now $899.00 and the EOS RP is $599.00. Both come with a free sling bag, and the EOS R comes with a free BG-E22 battery grip.

  4. EF Lens Clearance: EF 16-35mm f/4L IS USM ($599.00), EF 70-200mm f/4L IS II USM ($799.00), and more

There’s no way to describe it other than clearance sale — some of these prices on refurbished EF lenses are ridiculous. Best is the EF 16-35mm f/4L IS USM for $599.00 and the EF 70-200mm f/4L IS II USM for $799.00. We never thought we’d see a $299 “L” lens, but the refurbished EF 17-40mm f/4L USM is discounted to $299.00, the lowest seen yet!

  5. M-Mount Mirrorless Clearance: EOS M50 Mark II + 15-45mm for $399.00

The last clearance-worthy price on our list is the refurbished EOS M50 Mark II with 15-45mm Lens (Black) discounted to only $399.00 — compare with a price of $700 brand new! You also get a free Canon 100S sling backpack with purchase.

Be sure to check out our post summarizing all the deals, the refurbished stock tracker, or go directly to the Canon Direct Store. A reminder: refurbished items from the Canon Direct Store come with a 1-year Canon USA warranty.

M50 Mark II ($599), Speedlite EL-1 ($1099?!) Announced, Preorder

Canon announced the EOS M50 Mark II (in body and with a 15-45mm kit), as well as the Speedlite EL-1. Both are now available for preorder.

Oddly, the Speedlite is the more intriguing announcement of today. In an age where photographers have gone with affordable, off-brand flashes, Canon has gone the other way with a $1099 “1 series” light, featuring a xenon flashtube and a rechargeable LP-EL lithium-ion battery pack. Very interesting!
