Instant Rebate on Zeiss Lenses for Canon — Up to $300 Off

In addition to Canon lenses, we track prices on the whole range of third-party lenses. Zeiss kicked off a rare instant rebates on Zeiss lenses — savings range from $100 to $300 on a wide range of Zeiss lenses for Canon EF mount. It appears that everything is discounted except the 55mm Otus.

The discounts we’re seeing here are likely due to continuing strength of the US dollar vs. other currencies. Just as Canon has been forced to lower their prices (using mail-in rebates), no doubt Zeiss and other camera and lens manufacturers are under pressure to do the same.

No street prices available for Zeiss. (At least for now!)

eBay Deal: EF 24-105mm f/4L IS (Import) for $579 from AllNewShop

AllNewShop via eBay has the Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM for $579.00. This is a grey market / imported lens, which is physically identical to the Canon USA model, but a Canon USA warranty is not guaranteed.

AllNewShop via eBay is not an authorized Canon dealer. They are the same store as GetItDigital, and have been reliable. You may receive an up-sell phone call, we recommend declining all upgrades. Readers also report that their shipping & handling is not the fastest, with a 1-2 week wait before receiving items.

Please also consider our street price of $619 brand new from a Canon USA authorized dealer with a 1-year Canon USA warranty. The EF 24-70mm f/4L IS USM, touted to have better image quality, is also available through our street price program for $659.

New EF 50mm f/1.8 STM Announced — Surprise, Only $125

Canon just announced the new EF 50mm f/1.8 STM. Surprise, it’s available for pre-order for only $125.00 — the same as the current MAP price on the older EF 50mm f/1.8 II.

We are very impressed. Canon appears to have delivered a lot more value in this 50mm f/1.8 refresh, with the inclusion of the STM stepper motor, a metal (not plastic) mount, and rounded 7-blade aperture for rounder bokeh. All while keeping the price at a very reasonable $125.00 — Canon’s lowest (MAP) priced lens.

The lens is now available to pre-order (B&H, Adorama, Amazon) with a estimated ship date of May 21st.

Hot: Refurbished Speedlite 320EX for $109 from Adorama

UPDATE: B&H has now matched. Adorama is out-of-stock.

Adorama has the refurbished Speedlite 320EX for only $109.95 — free shipping and no tax (except to NY and NJ.) This item comes with a 1-year Canon USA warranty.

This is the lowest price that we’ve seen yet for this refurbished flash, compare with approximately $200 brand new from other authorized dealers.

This is terrific value for this price. While quantities last.
