Tamron 24-70mm f/2.8 VC $949 AR, 70-200mm f/2.8 VC $1179 AR

Authorized Tamron dealer Cameraland via eBay has the Tamron SP 24-70mm f/2.8 DI VC USD for $949.99 (after a $100 mail-in rebate). This is the lowest price we’ve seen from an authorized dealer. Compare to $1199 after rebate from all other authorized dealers. They have two available at this price.

They also have the Tamron 70-200mm f/2.8 SP Di VC USD for $1179.99 (after $100 mail-in rebate). They also only have two available at this price.

Note their listing has condition “New (other)” and says “We had an in store demo and this was opened and shown at the event. It can pass for new”. Previous readers who have purchased on previous similar occasions received a lens indistinguishable from new and eligible for the mail-in rebate. They seem to have a limited quantity of these “demo” lenses available quite regularly.

Street Price Special: 5D Mark III + BG-E11 $2849 (or Body Only $2699)

A very limited quantity street price special: a EOS 5D Mark III + a genuine Canon BG-E11 battery grip for only $2849, from an authorized dealer with full Canon USA warranty. No tax to all states, and free standard shipping.

The grip deal is really hot, because it’s only $150 more than the already fantastic $2699 body-only street price (after the $200 MIR). The BG-E11 battery grip goes for $275 at other authorized dealers.

If you really don’t want a battery grip, the EOS 5D Mark III is still at a street price of $2699 after the $200 Canon MIR.

EF 24-105mm f/4L IS for $639 Unauth eBay or $659 Street Price

eBay Daily Deal: 6th Ave via eBay has the Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM for $639.99. They are not an authorized dealer, but a reputable unauthorized dealer. These are brand new, likely import (i.e. store warranty), and “white box” (split from a 5D Mark III or 6D kit). But otherwise a great deal!

If you’d rather something from an authorized dealer with full Canon USA warranty, for only $20 more there is a street price of $659 brand new from an authorized dealer, free shipping and no tax collected. It’s also a white box lens. Here’s our FAQ about street prices.

EOS 7D for $999, with 28-135mm $1099, is a 7D Mark II Coming?

This weekend we saw a massive price drop for the Canon EOS 7D to $999.00 body only, which finally brings the new price more in-line with what the used market has been pricing this camera at.

The most overlooked deal is the Canon EOS 7D with 28-135 f/3.5-5.6 IS USM Kit for only $1099.00. The lens regularly sells used for about $200 so this puts you sub-$900 for a brand new 7D, especially as B&H is throwing in 2% rewards.

This begs the question: is a 7D Mark II finally coming? Five years ago, when the 7D was first released, it made sense; but with the advent of $1500 full-frame cameras and a fantastic $1000 70D there’s no room in the current line-up for a high-end APS-C to differentiate — unless, of course, Canon really steps up with game-changing auto-focus and frame-rate. Eagerly awaiting their next step.

Hot: EOS 6D Body for $1399 (Import) eBay, or $1499 Street Price

eBay Daily Deal: 6th Ave via eBay has the Canon EOS 6D for $1399.99. This is the lowest price we’ve seen body only for a brand new EOS 6D in the last 6 months.

Please note that 6ave is not an authorized dealer. They are an unauthorized dealer, and the listing clearly indicates that this may be an import body. Import bodies are physically identical, the only difference is a Canon USA warranty is not guaranteed; the store provides a one-year store warranty. We haven’t heard any recent reader complaints about this retailer, they have a 99.2% positive feedback rating. You also get the usual eBay, PayPal, and credit card buyer protection.

If the idea of a grey market / import body doesn’t appeal to you, we also now have a price drop on the Canon EOS 6D Street Price to $1499 after $200 mail-in rebate from an authorized dealer. Compare with $1699 (after same rebate) from other authorized dealers.

EF 85mm f/1.8 USM for $299 BuyDig eBay (Likely Not “Refurbished”)

Another sneaky listing from BuyDig via eBay? They have the EF 85mm f/1.8 USM “manufacturer refurbished” for $299.99.

But the listing details give the catalog number as CN85USM, and the part number as 2519A003. The catalog number matches the brand new item on BuyDig’s site, and the part number is also the brand new part number (refurbished part is 2519A007, for your reference).

We think this is yet another “refurbished” sale where they are shipping new items — $299 would be the lowest price ever seen for a new EF 85mm f/1.8 USM from an authorized dealer. BuyDig only collects sales tax to NJ. The $50 instant rebate on the lens is likely converted to a mail-in rebate tonight.
