EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM Back In-Stock via Street Price, $899

We now have stock again via our street price program of the EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM. This has been out-of-stock for a long time and has generally been in short supply. The price is $899, compare with a regular price of $1299 seen at other authorized dealers. Quantities are still limited.

These items are brand new from Canon authorized dealers, with a 1-year Canon USA warranty. No sales tax is collected.

Adorama has the RF 85mm f/2 Macro Back In-Stock at $599

Adorama again has the Canon RF 85mm F2 Macro IS STM in-stock, at a price of $599.00. As this lens has been in short supply and hard to find, we’d expect that this will probably sell out rather quickly, again.

Other major dealers are either not showing an availability date, or a date far into the future (January).

B&H DealZone: Datacolor SpyderX Elite $169.99, Pro $99.99

Today’s B&H DealZone (one-day deal) features a deal on Datacolor SpyderX Pro and Datacolor SpyderX Elite colorimeters for monitor calibration. They are going for $99.99 and $169.99 respectively, which ties for the lowest price seen yet.

Lexar 128GB 2000x (300MB/s) UHS-II SDXC for $109.99 (Today Only)

B&H Photo Video and Amazon are discounting the Lexar 128GB Professional 2000x UHS-II SDXC to $109.99. This is a great price on a UHS-II high-speed card with speeds of up to 300 MB/s read and 260 MB/s write, and a minimum sustained 90 MB/s write speed. We’re told this deal is today only.

Are Canon’s Camera Deals Done for 2020? Refurbished Still Available

Canon ended most of their instant rebates this morning, that includes their discounts on the EOS 5D Mark IV, EOS R, and EOS RP. The new rebate period (or more accurately, a lack of rebate period) lasts until January 3rd, 2021, so unless Canon changes their mind (which is very rare), this signals the end of the 2020 deal season on cameras. As a result, the EOS 5D Mark IV, EOS R, and EOS RP have gone back up to $2499, $1799, and $999 respectively.

Simultaneous to the rebates ending, Canon also kicked off a huge 15%-off refurbished sale which stacks with existing refurbished discounts. While quantities last, these prices are stellar and, unless Canon changes their decision on the holiday rebates, may be the only deals left until 2021 on Canon cameras. We’ll have to see what happens next in this very strange year.

Prices Increase (Rebates Expired?), Some Dealers Haven’t Raised Yet

We’re quite shocked to see that as of this morning, the Canon instant rebates (instant savings) have expired across the board. We saw that the previous “Black Friday” rebates were set to expire on November 30th, but it’s generally been Canon’s practice to extend the holiday rebates through the entire holiday season (and often into January), so we didn’t think Canon would actually let the savings expire. But they did.

Either they are trying some new marketing and pricing tactics, or they’re getting hit by the previously reported industry supply chain disruptions.

While B&H and Adorama have already processed the increase, there are a few stragglers who have yet to show the higher prices on a few of the lenses, but we expect this to change later today (take advantage now if you want the old pricing).

There are also other shifts happening with lens prices at the refurbished store, we’ll report on that later.

Super Hot 15% Refurb Sale: Restock of RF 24-105L, 24-240, R/RP Kits

The best deals in the super hot Canon Direct Store 15%-off sale are the R, RP, RF 24-105L, RP 24-240, and the corresponding kits. Early in the sale the lenses and kits were quickly sold out, but Canon appears to be restocking regularly. If you’re interested in these items, the key is patience — keep on watching (or reloading in-cart) and eventually you should be lucky enough to snag one of these fantastic deals!
