Thanks to a strong Canadian dollar, Canadians can take advantage of our amazing street price deals on the EOS R5, EOS R6, and RF 24-70mm f/2.8L IS USM. Our street prices, when converted to Canadian dollars, are 9-17% less than the Canadian retail prices. These dealers ship for free to Canada. Canadian sales tax will be collected, but there are no other duties or customs fees owing. The items come with a 1-year Canon warranty that is valid in both the USA and Canada.
- EOS R5 is $3699 USD (approx. $4631 CAD vs. $5399 retail)
- EOS R6 is $2299 USD (approx. $2878 CAD vs. $33499 retail)
- RF 24-70mm f/2.8L IS USM is $2199 USD (approx. $2753 CAD vs. $2999 retail)
These deals are expected to expire at the end of the week.
So Americans can order from Canadian retailers to save on sales tax, and now Canadians can order from US retailers to take advantage of forex rates. I wonder if the Canadian and US retailers could sell to one another and cut out the pesky middle-man (customers).
Nothing new here. We’ve/you’ve always been able to do this. As for forex rates, they are not in our (Canadian) favor and places like B&H still collect our provincial sales taxes to send back to Canada.
Is it normal for B&H to take such a long time to ship? I took advantage of the R5 street price and placed an order on March 18. Six days later a label was created for shipping, and it still hasn’t been picked up. I understand that cpricewatch has no control over this, but I am just a little bummed that they updated me with a shipped email, just to go on Passover holiday before dropping it off to be shipped. I also haven’t been able to contact anyone there for a new ETA.
