Anyone that got the 80D on the recently posted listing should contact Canon and get your price adjustment, I think you have 14 days from the day of purchase. That price on the 18-55mm kit is 85 bucks less for this sale, and 1115 less on the 18-135mm kit. Anyone that has been looking into this camera, the 18-55mm kit is one hell of a deal, I think it is the lowest yet, by far (previous was 830). Great camera, worth the upgrade from any Rebel, especially those older than the t6i (can’t speak for the t7i though, it’s too new for me to know much about it), and has some good improvements over the t6i too (45 pt cross type AF being the big one). I would also say if your camera is older than the 70D and you have been wanting to upgrade, then pull the trigger if you have some cash saved up.
Fantastic advice Kevin, thanks!
I made a pretty big typo, the 18-135mm kit is 115 less, not 1115.
I would also say that anyone looking at the 7D mkii that it is worth the extra 54 dollars to get the kit that comes with the 55-250mm STM lens. If you don’t have it, it is a great lens, probably the best telephoto for under a grand for APS-C cameras. If you don’t, you can easily resell it for 150 bucks, thus further lowering the price of the kit. This is of course if you were buying either of the kits that comes with a lens, and not jsut the body by itself.
Looks like stars will not align for me with a sale and the 35mm f/1.4 Mk I being in stock at the same time. I wonder if the Mk II will come down in price this year? Even with a refurb sale it’s more than I am looking to spend. Thanks as always for the heads up on these great deals!
Awesome….impulsively just bought the 80D to upgrade from my 50D and to supplement my 6D ff. I considered the 7DII for more focus points but the WiFi, megapixels, dynamic range and tilt screen won the day for me….and I’ve had great experience with Canon refurbished products…
80D is a big upgrade from the 50D, the AF system alone is going to blow your face off! Not literally, mind you, but it is awsome. Not to mention the way it handles low light is improved as well. The 7D mkii is good too, but unless you need to shoot in burst mode for extended periods of time while also writing raw files, then the extra cost becomes negligible. You will be happy with that 80D, especially at this price.
If “everything”, shouldn’t the list be longer?
Not really interested in using PayPal.
Not everything is in stock.
Thinking of getting just the pancake ef-s 24mm but I find the shipping cost $11 is a deal killer for me, any suggestion on filler to make the total $100 and get free shipping?
I bumped into that tool, Siva. Maybe offer to pay an extra penny?
I wish they will accept my offer, Dave LOL
The 24mm brand new on amazon is 130 USD, no tax, free shipping. Why bother with the refurb?
True, might as well pay $30 more and get a brand new.
After tax and shipping it’s more like 13 dollars.
Just completed a purchase using the code; did not have to use paypal.
Whitney Green Shaffley, these prices plus another 10% off.
I think you are mistaken, the prices listed here reflect the 10% off sale. Don’t forget the 7% sales tax Canon collects. Even then some of these deals are very good.
MacKenzie Gilliam ^^
Canon’s refurbished items are never cheap to begin with. In most case, you’ll be better offer buying street price; they are about the same price after sales tax, but you get brand new ones with street price….
Not something you can jsut blanket here. Some items you save, some you are better off going for the street price, some you are better finding on ebay, etc. You have to do the math and know the other deals out there. Canon collects roughly 7% tax and also shipping if your order is under 100 bucks. Typically, the less expensive items are not worth the refurb, since the additional 10% off doesn’t add up to much after tax. But the higher price items, do that math on them, and then see some much better savings, even after tax, compared to street price. Not to mention the refurb has the same warranty as a new in box item, and a lot of the time were not defective pieces of gear, jsut returned open box items or minor cosmetic defect items (read, the same as a new in box item). A good example here is the 80D with 18-55mm kit, street price is 1250, refurb is 817 after tax. I would absolutely roll the dice on that deal (in fact I did, back in march). However, take the popular 55-250mm STM, refurb is 230 after tax, but you can find it on ebay for about 150 bucks, and brand new it is 300. Again, you have to do the math and know the other available options.
Wondering what would the be range of shutter actuation on those refurbished bodies? anyone?
Thanks in advance.
You mean like, the number of shots on the shutter? Not many. These are not “used” cameras that were rebuilt, they were new cameras that were returned open, or with cosmetic defects, or a minor defect that was easily repaired. The shot count would be how ever many shots it took to figure that out. Just spitballing, I doubt it would be more than 1000, likely much less than that in almost all cases.
Thanks for your response, Kevin. much appreciated.
Looks like the 24mm and the 50mm are the only guys left. That’s understandable, after tax and shipping you would only save about 12-13 bucks over buying either of them new. But if you bought them together, then you save the shipping cost, and the savings come out to 48 bucks. So I guess if you were eying both these lenses, that would be the way to go, otherwise stick to buying them new.
