We have now heard a few times that the $200 mail-in rebate on the 5D Mark III and 6D will NOT be extended. They are only good on purchases made on or before Saturday, August 2nd, which means a $200 increase on the effective price of 5D Mark III and 6D until the next rebate period begins.
It’s not too late, even if you purchase now. You have until September 2nd to mail your rebate form.
If you want to take advantage of our street prices, your order should be placed by noon tomorrow, Friday, as many stores do not operate on Saturday.
The lens rebates are still valid until August 30th.
How does the mail-in rebate work? I’ve never done it before. I want to buy the canon 6d from you guys.
You buy the camera before Saturday, then you cut the UPC from the box and mail it into Canon with a rebate form. In about three weeks Canon sends you an AMEX card by mail preloaded with the rebate amount. If you’d prefer cash you can then call AMEX and refund the card. They mail you a check or transfer it to your bank account. It’s fairly straightforward and quite successful for our readers.
Can you use this buying refurbished direct from Canon?
Thank you!
Sean: Are you asking about street prices or the mail-in rebate?
Can you use the rebate on refurbished cameras purchased direct from Canon?
No. Brand new purchases only.
you pay the full price and they will send you a gift card after that.
