This is a fantastic deal for this full-frame camera, especially now that Canon refurbished EOS bodies have a one-year manufacturer warranty. The best new price that we’ve seen (from an authorized dealer) for the 6D was a recent deal at $1574 — this price is over $350 lower!

This question has come up a lot recently: How do I get notified when Canon direct store restocks their 20%-off refurbished sale?

We don’t know if they will restock before the sale finishes on November 2nd, but for past sales we’ve seen periodic restocks throughout the course of the week. These restocks have happened at all times of the day: in the morning, the afternoon, or the evening. The best way to purchase one of the refurbished items is to setup a notification, on our site, and we’ll e-mail you the instant we see the item go in stock.

Amazon has made the next move in this veritable Canon price war — they have the Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM for $699.99. This is the absolute cheapest price we’ve seen the lens-only from an authorized retailer — a $400 price drop. (Even the unauthorized dealers are only selling for slightly below this, and they sell split kits!)

What is going on with all of these deals? We’ve been studying Canon prices for six years now and have never seen this many deals. Has Canon abandoned price control?
