Transcend 32GB 400x CompactFlash for $29.99 at B&H

B&H Photo Video has the Transcend 32GB 400x CompactFlash (write at 60MB/s) for $29.99. This is the lowest price we’ve seen ever for this 32GB compact flash, rated at 90MB/s read and 60MB/s write.

This is a great price compared to the alternative from SanDisk (same write speed, $75).

EOS 7D + 18-135mm IS for $1100 at 6ave via eBay

6th Ave via eBay is clearing out the EOS 7D: they have the Canon EOS 7D with EF-S 18-135 IS Kit for $1100.00.

They are not an authorized dealer, but this is a really good deal for the 7D: a brand new 18-135mm IS lens can easily sell for about $250 on the used market, netting you a 7D for $850. The camera is a bit older and due for replacement, but it is still a favorite for many, and this is an excellent price.

Rokinon 8mm Fisheye for $199 at BuyDig via eBay

BuyDig via eBay has the Rokinon 8mm f/3.5 Fisheye for Canon for $199.99. This ties for the lowest price ever on this affordable and great value lens.

Note this isn’t the “HD” version so you won’t get a circular view with a full-frame camera as it is partially obstructed by the non-removable lens hood.

You can see some fun and creative photos taken with the 8mm f/3.5 fisheye in the Flickr group for this lens.

EOS 6D Body Refurbished – $1299 at Adorama

Adorama has the EOS 6D refurbished for $1299. Refurbished bodies come with a full 1-year Canon warranty.

This is a great price as this body is currently going for $1599 unauthorized or $1899 authorized (MAP). It is good to see that both refurbished deals and unauthorized deals still are live and well even with the new pricing policy.

[Update: Inventory is dropping fast. From about 32 when we first posted, to 25 as of now, one hour later.]

Strict Minimum Advertised Price Now In-Place

The Canon Price List is a sea of red: a strict Minimum Advertised Price, or MAP, has been enforced on almost all bodies and lenses. It appears to be so strict that stores aren’t even allowed to use the old “add to cart” trick. Not a single store is less than full MAP, even in-cart or at checkout. This is exactly as we warned last week.

Again, MAP does not prevent a retailer from selling below the advertised price, but in our experience it does result in higher prices because stores are not actively competing against one another. We are waiting to see how this will play out, but so far, the strict adherence to this new policy is ominous.

Again if you’re interested in a specific item be sure to sign-up for a notification at a price that you’re interested in, we will continue to find ways to share the current price trends across the Canon market.
