In the past, how reliable have these type of group purchases been?
Our March group buy was a success — although it could have gone smoother; demand way exceeded the inventory and it took a while to get all the orders filled. I think there are a few people still waiting but the store will honor all purchases at that price.

I was in the March group buy. It was backordered but the company kept in contact and answered all my questions. I ended up buying a body and a speedlight from them as well. Got my body in less than a week. So far, my experience has been wonderful and I’m buying stuff outside of group buy deals.

The 6D goes on sale all the time. Sorry for the harshness, but have you been sleeping for the past several months? The editors here post amazing deals on the 6D frequently. The group buy is really better for stuff that NEVER goes on sale. Its the only way to get a discount on that stuff unfortunately.

Just to be clear — you’re referring to getitdigital via eBay — most of the time their stock is US model (even if it is missing a warranty card).
You can always register your camera online with Canon. That’s what one of the seller had told me.
