We have now heard a few times that the $200 mail-in rebate on the 5D Mark III and 6D will NOT be extended. They are only good on purchases made on or before Saturday, August 2nd, which means a $200 increase on the effective price of 5D Mark III and 6D until the next rebate period begins.

It’s not too late, even if you purchase now. You have until September 2nd to mail your rebate form.

If you want to take advantage of our street prices, your order should be placed by noon tomorrow, Friday, as many stores do not operate on Saturday.

The lens rebates are still valid until August 30th.

One of our street price retailers has dropped their price on the EOS 6D body-only to $1449 after a $200 Canon mail-in rebate (you pay $1649 before rebate). It’s brand new, there’s one caveat, but if you are interested (only serious inquiries please) you can contact us for assistance in obtaining this price, and we’ll explain.

The current $200 mail-in rebate on the 5D Mark III and the 6D expire on Saturday. We think they might be extended but do not have a solid confirmation at this time. UPDATE: We have now heard from a few sources that they will not be extended. We currently have the following street prices from authorized dealers:

Street Price Special Expiring: 5D Mark III + BG-E11 for $2849 AR

One of our popular street price specials is the EOS 5D Mark III with a genuine Canon BG-E11 battery grip for only $2849 (after rebate), from an authorized dealer with full Canon USA warranty. No tax to all states, and free standard shipping.

Unfortunately this special deal is expiring on Thursday evening and we don’t think it will be coming back. It’s a fantastic price as it’s only $150 more than our already low $2699 (after rebate) body-only street price. The BG-E11 battery grip goes for $275 at other authorized dealers.

Today’s eBay Daily deal is from 6th Ave via eBay. They have the Canon EOS M with 22mm Kit for $249.99, your choice of color (red, black, white, or silver). They previously cleared out the EOS M + 18-55mm for a similar price, selling over 800. They are not an authorized dealer.

UPDATE: There are a lot of useful comments from readers who purchased this camera in the previous sale. At a $249 price point this is a great little camera.

The other eBay Daily deal is the 5D Mark III + 24-105mm for $3299 from unauthorized dealer GetItDigital, but that’s not a great deal as we have a authorized dealer street price for the same price (after a $200 mail-in rebate).

The usual warnings apply. 6th Ave via eBay is not an authorized dealer, but they’re a reputable unauthorized dealer. They state on the listing that it’s an import version, so a Canon USA warranty is not guaranteed. However this is an excellent price as it’s $200 lower than our already low street price of $1299 and $350 lower than all other authorized dealers.
