Rokinon Xeen Cinema Lenses $1695 Each, +10% Rewards, Adorama

Adorama has the complete line-up of Rokinon Xeen Cinema Lenses on-sale this weekend. Each lens is only $1,695 (regular price $2495) — a $800 savings. Additionally, all lenses (except the new 135mm) come with a 10% or $169.50 reward.

Now, the stills photographers in the audience (that’s most of you!) are probably thinking, “wow, what expensive lenses, they don’t even have autofocus”. Professional cinema lenses are impressively engineered as they need to satisfy many more requirements: minimizing “focus breathe”, durable metal housings, detent-free apertures, longer focus throws.

This price is remarkable, as it takes what was already an affordable entry-point into the cinema glass market and knocks it down a further 40%. Cinema5D has a great blog post on how disruptive this line-up already was at $2500-per lens.
