  • No crop 8K and 4K video capture using the full-width of the sensor.*
  • Dual Pixel CMOS AF available in all 8K and 4K recording modes.
  • Canon Log available in 8K and 4K internal recording modes.
  • A Canon first, the EOS R5 will feature 5-axis In-Body Image Stabilization, which works in conjunction with Optical IS equipped with many of the RF and EF lenses.

I’ve watched the portion of the press conference 3-4 times and they do not state that it will work with the OIS on EF lenses as well as RF, or just RF only. We know the RF mount has additional throughput and do not know if IBIS+OIS is one of them or not.

The press release indicates IBIS will work with RF and EF lenses, but you’re correct that they don’t clarify if it works better with RF lenses (vs. EF lenses).

wasn’t there a poll taken a few months back on how much the R5 would launch for? Do you have a estimated guess? I REALLY hope it doesn’t start at $3499 but who knows!

I think $3499 would be very optimistic, given the video specs they’re touting. I’m gonna guess (and it’s 100% a guess) $3999.

I’m guessing it will be slightly north of $4000… $4199, $4299?
