Was hoping the 4 1/2 year old technological wonder dropped below $2000 like many of the grey market deals.

Has there ever been a Street Price for the Canon 45mm tilt-shift lens?

This is really not a deal if you know the price of 5d3 in the past 2 years.

This is not grey market. This is from an authorized dealer.

People can get 5d3+pro-100+$149 Rewards for $2149 from adorama 08/2015, can get 5d3+pro-10+Adobe CC Photo (1-yr) for $2149 from BHphoto 03/2016, people can get 5D3 under $2000 from authorized dealler before last black friday via another source which I do not want to mention because I am not trying to advertise them.

Yes, those are all deals that we posted before. I wish I had a time machine too, I would have bought all my lenses several years ago before the big price increases. 🙂

I see this is the third or forth time you’ve posted comments on why a deal isn’t good. Just keep in mind people aren’t always looking for the best deal of all time, and some deals are relatively good compared to the drought we’ve been seeing for the last 6 months. There has been good interest and many purchases on this one (especially the kit).

I am surprised people buying at this price. I know a community of people who love to play gears, most of them are amateurs and psome of the them are professionals. They are very disappointed with Canon’s price strategy, and they did not buy at this price and especially the BF is coming, best brand new Canon DSLR price may come at late Nov/Early Dec. Many of them trying to shift to Nikon and even Sony, when they are trying to upgrade.

I want to thank people in CPW, you help us and I think many other people who love gears and photograph, you did great job in the past although some of post are not deals :).

I want to mention one thing, you actually have a competitor to your street price, via that source people can name their price, and sometimes people can get better price than your street price from authorized dealer.

I wouldn’t consider that other site (a venture capital funded startup) a competitor. They are a business trying to sell cameras. We are a small group of individuals with a passion for Canon and saving people money, be it through street price, refurbished, or advertised deals (both grey and authorized).

Yes, sometimes people can get a slightly better price elsewhere but most of the time we have deals that they can’t come close to (for example, the 5D IV for $3199 or the EOS M bundle special.)

Many readers appreciate the simplicity of just buying at our published street price instead of playing a guessing/negotiation game.

We’re thankful that many readers purchase via our street price program to support the work we do in price research, deal posting, refurbished tracking, etc. Without this it wouldn’t be possible to maintain this site (nothing comes for free.)

I’m planning to buy 5d mark 4. Historically does canon have deas on 5d mark ‘x’ cameras for black friday?

Call me a sucker but I bought one of these $2499 5D MkIII kits and was especially pleased with the customer service from both CPW and the dealer they put me in touch with. Yeah I shopped around a ton before pulling the trigger too, even considered gray market to “really save”. Shipping was fast AND they even honored a price drop that occured in the time between my order date and shipment arrival. As I get older I find I’m willing to pay a little more to deal with less bulls**t – thanks CPW 😉
