Hello: would you be able to tell if it a good idea to buy it now, or wait till the actual black friday deal? I plan to get a 6D and 16-35F4L IS! Thank you!

Tough to say. There is currently a $360 instant discount on the 6D refurbished. If that goes away, even a 20% off sale would be more expensive than the current price.

Since you’re in the return period for the Canon Direct store which covers Black Friday and Cyber Monday, you might as well buy now and price adjust if there is a deeper discount (or return and rebuy).

CanonPriceWatch.com I been waiting over 3 weeks now for my price adjustment to come thru and Canon just keeps telling me there working on it. =(

If you buy it do not open it and just hold onto it till black friday. I recommend returning it and buying the new one so you get the lower price instantly instead of waiting for a refund like me. Going on week four waiting for the adjustment soon

Is there a way to tell how many clicks a refurb has on it?

I have purchased a number of refurbs from the Canon direct store. I have yet to receive one with any clicks. The same question has been asked and answered many times before. Clicks should not be an issue.

I don’t know that I can believe you. How did you check shutter counts? Not a single person reported a zero shutter count in the halloween sale thread. The counts were low, but never zero. I had 1200+ on my 6D and only a count of 24 on my SL1.

You mean shutter counts? Eoscount.com is the place I used. My refurbished 6D came with a 1200+ count.

Should we hold off until Black Friday?

Tough to say. There’s currently $440 savings on the 7D Mark II. My guess is the Black Friday price will end up about the same. Given that Black Friday is less than 14 days away you can return/rebuy or get a price adjustment.

  9. November 17, 2015 at 1:42 am EDT

Yup….what they will do is charge your card, and cancel your order the next day. Canon just pulled that trick on me for a 6D

  10. November 17, 2015 at 2:13 am EDT

Debra, the 6D is under a grand now.

When I go to purchase 6d it says the inventory can’t be fulfilled. Do you know how often they get the inventory updated.

I’m nervous about buying a refurb?? Should I be? Have 24-70 & 700-200 both 2.8. Shoot primarily sports with 7D. Can’t decide if I should go 7Dii or 5d Markiii for iso. Thoughts??? Black Friday typically better sales???

BIt the bullet on the 7D Mark II last night. Should be a worthy successor to my T3i. Plus it looks like I can sell my T3i for as much as I originally paid for it–Thanks CPW!
