Canon USA Price Drops: 5D Mark III $2299, 6D $1249 (Street Prices)

The previously leaked price drops have happened as expected: a $300 drop on the 5D Mark III, a $100 drop on the 6D, and conversion of the $300 mail-in rebate to a $300 instant rebate!

B&H Photo Video now has the Canon EOS 5D Mark III for $2499.00, and the Canon EOS 6D for $1399.00. Both include a bunch of freebies including memory card, battery, bag.

If you’d rather save an additional $200 on the EOS 5D Mark III and $150 on the EOS 6D (no freebies, sorry!), check out our street prices of $2299 and $1249, respectively, brand new from authorized Canon USA dealers with free shipping.

Also started is a new lens mail-in rebate, with improved values. Get the rebate form. Our favorites are the 70-200mm II for $1849 AR and the 24-70mm II for $1649 AR. Check out the other street prices on lenses newly on rebate.

(Our apologies: we’ve had a few site issues tonight with double-counting mail-in and instant rebates; also, some retailers jumped the gun and lowered their price early, while the mail-in rebate was still active. We think everything is sorted out now, please let us know if there still are discrepancies.)

I just bought a 7D Mark II and a 24-70 two weeks ago. I wonder if they’ll do it retroactive or if I’ll have to return them and repurchase. Dammit.

probably more downside to these prices after march 28th, considering grey market sells for $1900

As an FYI – the April/July 2014 rebates had 300 off the 70-200ISmk2

The base price was also $200 higher back then, as Canon did a price drop in September 2014 of $200.

You can inspect the price graph at the bottom of this page if you want to study the history:

Agreed and noted. I’m hoping we see a 200$ rebate to make the street price worthwhile. because, although we did see a price drop of 200 in Sept2014, the street price did not go down as much simply because Canon just came in-line with market forces, which canon dealers have already been pushing via street price.
long story short, that $200 canon price adjustment did not equate a $200 street price drop due to margins etc.

Also, I love the graph, but its so small. can you guys blow it up, or make it more like CamelCamel where it visibly states the lowest price ever?

I got the the 70-200 mk2 for $1800 after rebate last year from authorize dealer.

1800 is the exact price i’m looking for. I know its only $50 from where its currently at, but its the principle. in my humble opinion, the difference from street price to authorized dealer is currently not competitive enough on this lens. It’s basically a 10% discount off.
Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love the street price concept in general, I never buy anywhere else when it comes to bodies/lenses. Just waiting for the wright moment.
FYI – i’m traveling to greece in April, fingers crossed someone drops the price by $50 and i’m in
