Unauthorized dealers recently lowered their price on the EOS 5D Mark III to a new lowest-ever $2297 via eBay, and authorized dealers have responded with a lowest-ever special of their own:
Authorized Canon USA dealers have a limited number of 5D Mark III for only $2399, after the $300 Canon mail-in rebate (just extended). Brand new from authorized dealers with a 1-year Canon USA warranty. This is the lowest price ever from an authorized dealer. This has a guaranteed Canon USA warranty, and is only $100 more than the unauthorized grey market deal. This price is limited to a few cameras, afterwards the street price will be returning to $2,469 AR.
We also still have a special on the 5D Mark III + BG-E11 for $2569 AR (inquire via the same 5D Mark III street price form). Also, B&H’s $2449 AR bundle deal is still live (but back-ordered).
WOW! This puts a chink in the used market.
Making room for new inventory of a new camera???
All right, Canon…if you do this with the 1D X I might cave. I might cave anyway…
Wow!!!
5dmk4 soooon????
Right when I get a 6D the 5D3 went down in price. I guess I have to wait till it hit 2k. Then I will bite
They have to move them off the shelves now, cause everybody is gonna want that new +50 megapixel camera instead!
Yeah cause no one’s buying them.I give Canon and Nikon 5 years unless they change their game plan
You can always use the 6D as a back up. Thats what I did in my case.
Cuz the mark4 is coming out on march 17, so they need to clean out the inventory for the new camara once they anunced no one want to get the old model cuz the new megapixel from the new model… Now this camera sells so cheap on ebay even lower than the price cpw posted go to ebay u will see deals with the lens from $2,600
La La La – (fingers in ears!!!) – Your’re right, Ken. It’s getting dangerously close to my “throw in the towel” 2K price.
I wonder if Canon is going to read the writing on the wall? 1. you charge too much, 2. fixed advertised pricing is BS, 3. a one year warranty carries little weight, 4. more and more people feel comfortable buying from ‘unauthorized’ dealers.
Already got one!
Off topic, but I’d like to report that I received my Amex reward cards ($300 + $350) today from the Adorama EOS 6D, PIXMA PRO-10, and LP-E6 Battery deal.
When did you mail your form in?
Mailed 12/6/2014, received 12/15/2014, payment received 1/5/2014.
I’m curious about this as well. I mailed my forms more than a week ago and the rebate website says they still haven’t received my paperwork and other required documentation. I’m starting to get concerned. I made copies of everything before sending, but I’m worried that the originals that I sent didn’t make it there.
Probably because the Nikon D750 is going for 1999.00
