Friday Deals: EOS M + 22mm $249 eBay; 600EX-RT $414 Refurb

A few Friday deals! BigValueInc via eBay has the Canon EOS M with 22mm Kit for $249.99. This is a return of an eBay deal we saw a few weeks ago! These are likely import model. BigValueInc has a 99.0% feedback according to the CPW feedback score.

The Canon Direct Store started a mini-sale last night. The only two reasonable deals are the refurbished 600EX-RT for $414.99 and the T3 + 18-55mm IS for $226.99. But we’re also hearing that more refurb deals will be coming as part of their Labor Day Weekend sale, so please stay tuned and check back over the next couple days.

Street Price Drop: 5D Mark III $2699 and EOS 6D $1449 (After Rebates)

We’re really pleased to confirm a $200 mail-in rebate starting on Sunday for the EOS 5D Mark III and EOS 6D. The rebate period lasts for four weeks. We’ve lowered our street prices to $2699 and $1449 respectively (net price after $200 mail-in rebate).

You can contact us now via the street price form and we can help you get your order placed as soon as the rebate starts.

Also included is a rebate on the PIXMA PRO-100, but unfortunately it has been lowered in value. The rebate is now only $350 on a PIXMA PRO-100 printer (when bundled with an eligible camera and paper purchase). This is down from the $400 rebate, and likely makes these bundles no longer such a great deal.

There are also no standalone lens rebates, so sadly the current lens street prices will expire.

Price Drop: Sigma Art 18-35mm f/1.8 DC HSM $754 at Amazon

Amazon is at it again. While most other retailers are out-of-stock of the very highly reviewed Sigma Art 18-35mm f/1.8 DC HSM, Amazon has lowered their price to $754.19. This is the lowest ever price we’ve seen for this lens. Compare with $799 at all other stores.

The catch is: they too are out of stock. It is available for back-order and Amazon is great at honoring a back-ordered price, if you are patient enough to wait.

Please note this is a DC lens for crop sensor bodies only.

New Mail-in Rebate on Bodies? But Lens Rebates will Expire

We have now heard from a few sources about a camera-only mail-in rebate starting this weekend on the EOS 5D Mark III and EOS 6D. We’re told the rebate value will be similar to the rebate that expired on August 2nd: $200 on either body. If true, our street prices are expected to return to $2699 for the 5D Mark III and $1449 for the EOS 6D. We are sure these prices will be popular, please use the street price contact form!

We haven’t heard of any new mail-in rebate on lenses. All signs point to the lens rebates actually expiring (only valid on purchases through Saturday, August 30th). Our guess is the next opportunity for lens rebates is probably October.

Don’t worry, it’s not too late to take advantage of the lens mail-in rebate; as long as you order before Friday noon ET and your invoice is dated on or before August 30th, you have a whole month to mail-in your form. We have great street prices available.

This is also a reminder that if you participated in the previous rebates (expired August 2nd), the deadline for mailing the submission is fast approaching. Please don’t forget!

Canon Lens Mail-in Rebates Expire on August 30th

The Canon Mail-in Rebate on Lenses is currently scheduled to expire on Saturday, August 30th. As of today we haven’t heard of any extension or new rebates on lenses. There are still a few days left, so we’ll post if we hear anything.

As a reminder, there currently is no active mail-in rebate on the 5D Mark III or 6D. We’re hoping for a new mail-in rebate, instant rebate, or price drop after this week, but haven’t heard anything concrete yet.

We always recommend purchasing in the last week of a rebate period. It “locks in” a good low price, and should a new rebate, promotion, or price-drop start, we find that most retailers can accommodate a price adjustment during the return period to get you the lower price (or eligibility for the new rebate).

You have until Friday noon to take advantage of some great street prices that are available:

Street Price Special is Back: 5D Mark III + BG-E11 for $2869

We’re pleased to see a popular street price special is back (for a short time): the EOS 5D Mark III with a genuine Canon BG-E11 battery grip for only $2869, from an authorized dealer with full Canon USA warranty. No tax to all states, and free standard shipping.

The grip itself goes for $289 at authorized Canon dealers, so this is a great package deal.

Also available: 5D Mark III + 24-105mm + BG-E11 for $3479.

If you are interested you can fill out the 5D Mark III street price contact form (or the form on the kit page). You can also check out all our available street prices.

Speedlite 90EX (Wireless Master!) for $42 — 3rd Party via Amazon

“Another Deal Site” via Amazon has the Canon Speedlite 90EX for $41.42. This is the lowest price we’ve seen for this flash.

It is from a third party seller but fulfilled by Amazon, free shipping from Amazon US warehouses, and the seller has perfect reviews. It is white box and likely import as well.

Some find this Speedlite useful for fill flash, but our favorite use is as a really cheap wireless flash master (for 5D Mark II/III or 6D). At $41.42 it’s a fraction of the cost of the 270EX II ($169) or a real transmitter (ST-E3-RT, $278). There are some downsides — low battery life, no red AF-assist light — but at this price it can’t be beat!

B&H also sells this (import, white box) for $59.49.
