eBay Frenzy: 5D Mark III (Import) $2569 from GetItDigital

Today’s eBay Frenzy deal is from Get It Digital via eBay. They have the Canon EOS 5D Mark III for $2569.99.

Get It Digital via eBay is not an authorized dealer. They are likely selling import model 5D Mark III, where a Canon USA warranty is not guaranteed: instead the store is providing a store warranty. The store has a feedback score of 99.3% when looking at high-end Canon items.

In the last sale they sold hundreds at this price; most of the feedback was good, but there was one negative report, where a reader was shipped a damaged Canon box (camera seems okay). If you are willing to take a (small) risk, this is a great way to get a 5D Mark III at a great price. Or you can consider our street price of $2699 brand new from an authorized Canon USA dealer with full Canon USA warranty, which is only $130 more.

The other frenzy deal today is the EOS 70D with 18-135 IS STM Kit for $1099 from BigValueInc.

EOS 6D Street Price: $2039 with 24-105mm, $2199 with 24-70 f/4L IS

Thanks to the new mail-in rebate on EOS 6D and 5D Mark III we now have two additional great street prices from Canon USA authorized dealers.

The EOS 6D with 24-105mm f/4L IS is $2039.99 after the $200 mail-in rebate (you pay $2239.99 before rebate).

A more impressive deal is a bundle of the EOS 6D with 24-70mm f/4L IS for $2199.99 after a $450 mail-in rebate ($200 rebate on the EOS 6D and a $250 rebate for purchasing the 24-70mm f/4L IS bundled with the 6D). This is a great price as it’s only $700 on top of our already low body-only street price for this lens.

In addition to our body-only 5D Mark III street price of $2699 after rebate, we have a price on the 5D Mark III + 24-105mm: $3299 after rebate. These have been very popular with the new rebate!

All prices are brand new from Canon USA authorized dealers, have full 1-year Canon USA warranties and include free standard shipping and do not collect tax to most states — please contact us for details, or read more about street prices, or read testimonials from other readers. Lens street prices will be back soon.

Breaking News: Canon Price Drop Tomorrow on 26 Lenses

This is exciting: we have just now heard that Canon is instituting a “permanent” price drop on 26 lenses tomorrow, Sunday, August 31st.

If you bought a lens that was recently on rebate, don’t worry, you already got the better deal — for most lenses, the recent post-rebate prices were better than the new prices. For a couple lenses (notably the 24-70 II and 70-200 II) the price drop ($200) is equal to the rebate — effectively making it permanent. The best deals are on super-telephotos that weren’t on rebate — a $700 to $1000 price drop! You can see the full list below.

As for street prices? For lenses not currently on rebate, we expect street prices to drop! We will need a few days to get more clarity on what level the street prices will fall to, so we will disable street prices on all affected lenses. Please stay tuned, street prices will be back next week!

Another likely benefit of the price drop would be a reduction in the refurbished price, as refurbished prices are usually pegged at 80% of the MAP price.

A reminder, there is also a new mail-in rebate on 5D Mark III and 6D starting tomorrow. For the list of price drops (including both old and new MAP) please read more.
