B&H and Adorama have now updated their pre-order price to correctly show the $300 pre-order discount on the “Premium Kit”. Effectively, you are getting a free SanDisk 64GB Extreme PRO CFast 2.0 memory card, plus a CFast 2.0 card reader, when you pre-order the EOS-1D X Mark II.

The effective $300 discount from the free CFast card is likely the best deal we’ll see for a while! This discount is only eligible for pre-orders. The camera is expected to ship in mid-April. Typically, a long delay for availability indicates that initial supply is expected to be low.

Many readers have asked, “when will you have a street price on the camera?” It all depends on supply and demand — it could be anywhere from weeks to half a year before retailers are willing to discount new release cameras. The $350 Canon mail-in rebate (when you purchase, camera, printer, and paper) has been renewed until February 27th. The promotion id is new, so you are eligible for a rebate (even if you took advantage of a previous rebate period.)

Unfortunately B&H bundle deals expired last night, but Adorama is still showing some great bundle pricing. The rebate expires on February 27th, but the retailers have the discretion to change their bundle price at any time. The bundles include free memory cards and bags.
