Hot: Sigma Art 35mm f/1.4 DG HSM for $764 at Amazon

UPDATE: Sold out, but our streetprice of $779 is still available.

Amazon has lowered the price on the Sigma Art 35mm f/1.4 DG HSM for Canon to $763.96. This is the lowest price we’ve seen yet from an authorized dealer for this lens. Of note, this is below our street price of $779. Amazon is an authorized Sigma USA dealer.

We’re surprised to see a public price drop for this lens, which is supposedly under MAP pricing control. We can’t help but wonder if this is related to recent leaked photos of the new 35mm f/1.4 II, but the new Canon lens would likely end up costing much more (maybe double?). The Sigma lens at $763.96 is a steal.

Hot, Lowest Yet: EOS 5Ds for $2699 (Import) from GetItDigital eBay

In a stunning price drop, Get It Digital via eBay now has the Canon EOS 5Ds for $2699.99. This is the lowest price we’ve seen yet for this recently available 50MP camera. Compare with a list price of $3699 and our street price of $3099.

Please note Get It Digital via eBay is not an authorized dealer, so a Canon USA warranty is not guaranteed (although, historically, Canon USA has honored it.) Also be aware that the store may call you to upsell, please decline all upgrades and insist they process your order at the $2699 price.. Other than this, Get It Digital via eBay has been a very reliable dealer.

Mail-in Rebates Scheduled to Expire This Saturday, August 29th

This is the last week for the current set of mail-in rebates, which are expected to expire on Saturday, August 29th. If not renewed, purchases much be made on or before August 29th from authorized dealers to be eligible for the mail-in rebate.

Although rebate renewals have been quite common this year, we generally won’t find out if the rebate is renewed until the very last minute. Here are some of the deals that are currently scheduled to expire when the rebate does:

Sigma Art 24-35mm f/2 for $879 from Authorized Sigma Dealer

We now have a newly reduced street price on the Sigma Art 24-35mm f/2 DG HSM for Canon. It’s now only $879.00, brand new from a Sigma USA dealer with a 4-year Sigma USA warranty. Our street price dealers have limited quantity — only available while stock lasts.

This lens was released only four weeks ago, and it’s incredible to see a 12% discount, or $120, from the regular price of $999. This lens is the first f/2 zoom for full-frame cameras. We also have great street pricing on Sigma’s traditional Art prime line-up:

B&H DealZone: Tiffen 77mm Variable Density ND for $70 AR

Today’s B&H Photo Video DealZone (one-day deal) is the Tiffen 77mm Variable Neutral Density Filter for $69.95, after a manufacturer (Tiffen) $30 mail-in rebate.

We’re normally not a fan of Tiffen filters or variable density ND (we prefer reliable quality of the Lee Big Stopper) — but the reviews for this variable density ND filter read quite well (4.5 star on B&H). There are some caveats if you use the higher densities at wider angles, but overall it seems good value for money, if you don’t want to spend $350-400 on a Lee Stopper system.

Live Again: T5i + 18-55 IS + PIXMA PRO-100 for $399 AR BuyDig eBay

This bundle deal is back, from BuyDig via eBay: they have the EOS Rebel T5i with 18-55 IS STM, PIXMA PRO-100, 32GB SDHC Class 10 UHS-1, bag, and photo paper for $399.00, after a $350 mail-in rebate. You pay $749 before rebate.

Click here to check out the deal at BuyDig via eBay. They are an authorized Canon USA dealer, and your receipt does not mention that the transaction was done via eBay, so you are fully valid for the mail-in rebate.
