AllNewShop via eBay has yet another great grey market deal. They have the Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM for $549.00, this is a white-box lens (taken from a camera kit), and the lowest price we’ve seen yet (grey market) for this lens.

AllNewShop, also known as GetItDigital, is not an authorized dealer, so this item is grey market. A Canon USA warranty is not guaranteed, but readers report it is historically honored. Beware a potential upsell call (stay firm and insist they process your order at this price).

EOS 80D, EF-S 18-135 USM, G7 X Mark II Announced, Pre-Order

Canon has announced the EOS 80D camera, the EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM lens, and the PowerShot G7 X Mark II point-and-shoot.

The EOS 80D features a 24.2MP APS-C CMOS sensor and DIGIC 6 image processor, and is capable of up to 7 fps and Full HD 1080p60 video. Also impressive is a new 45-point AF system, and as expected, Canon has kept the dual-pixel AF system that was introduced with the EOS 70D.

The EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM uses a new “NANO USM” technology that supposedly combines USM and STM. The only thing of note for this lens is it can be used with a PZ-E1 Power Zoom Adapter to enable power zoom for video or remote shooting applications.

Most items are available for pre-order with a first shipment in mid-April.

Amazon, B&H and Adorama are all featuring the same one-day deal on PNY Elite and Pro Elite SD cards. These are great prices for 95MB/s UHS Class 3 cards. We will caution that while the Amazon reviews for the “Elite” line average 4.5 stars out of 5, there are reports of defective cards, or not being recognized as U-3.

Luckily, also on sale today only is the newly released “Pro Elite” line, which sells for only $6 more than the “Elite” line (for the 64GB card), and doesn’t have the same negative reviews. Likely a worthy upgrade.

We can’t resist posting this, because we’re huge fans of the 12″ Apple MacBook. Weighing in at just over 2 pounds, it’s the perfect weight and size to slip into a camera bag. There’s no fan. This means it runs very quiet, doesn’t get hot, and the battery lasts all day — we don’t even bring the charger. Photos and videos look amazing on the Retina display. They keyboard is surprisingly usable. (Did you know, most of these blog posts are written using this MacBook?)
