Upcoming Street Price Closures This Week and Next Month

Please note some of our street price dealers may be affected by closures for holiday observances. Specifically, some dealers are closed from noon Wednesday, September 20th, through Friday, September 22nd; and again from noon Wednesday, October 4th, through Friday, October 13th.

Please ensure your street price orders are entered early to reduce the impact of these delays. Some vendors remain open — please inquire for the full details of what options are available.

B&H DealZone: Tiffen 77mm Variable Neutral Density Filter for $69 AR

Today’s B&H Photo Video DealZone (one-day deal) is the Tiffen 77mm Variable Neutral Density Filter for $69.95, after a $20 mail-in rebate. Regular price for this filter is $129.

We’re normally not a fan of Tiffen filters or variable density ND (we prefer the reliable quality of the Lee Big Stopper) — but the reviews for this variable density ND filter read quite well (4.5 star on B&H). There are some caveats if you use the higher densities at wider angles, but overall it seems good value for money, if you don’t want to spend $350-400 on a Lee Stopper system.

We feel that given the recent cadence of 10%-off refurbished lens sales, another sale is not too far away.

Tax is collected only for New Jersey. Please note they are not an authorized dealer and a Canon USA warranty is not guaranteed. They are, however, a reputable dealer with strong positive feedback (99.8%) and good reviews from our readers in the last couple of years. The seller provides the warranty for these items. Kickstarter: Kobra Flash Modifier from $58 (20% off Retail)

Featured Video Play Icon

If you use on-camera flash, the Kobra Flash Modifier is the slickest diffuser we’ve seen yet. It’s a two piece modifier — a clear, flexible silicone diffuser, which snaps secure into the “Kobra Band”, a black silicone band that hugs your flash head tightly. It looks elegant (and not at all dorky — ahem, Gary Fong), won’t pop-off your flash, and is compatible with many different flashes. They’ve even got a nifty system for color gels and have partnered with LEE Filters to offer a nice six-pack.

It’s available through a Kickstarter Campaign that lasts until October 4th — the super early bird price for the band + diffuser is $58 and the band + diffuser + 6 LEE Filter gels + case is $80. These are the super early bird prices, for which there’s less than a few dozen spots left. Get in early on this very exciting refinement (finally!) in the flash diffuser space.
