This is probably a pricing mistake, but Adorama via their Walmart Marketplace has the Canon Speedlite 470EX-AI for $101.76. Compare with a price of $249 seen at all other authorized dealers and marketplaces for this speedlite.
As usual with all suspected pricing mistakes — we recommend you buy now and think later…
I tried to snag it within a minute of your post but even though it showed 6 left, at checkout it went to zero in stock. Oh well..
Same Here. I clicked my cpw email link and saw 5 left. It went out of stock right away before I can go through check out.
Based on the traffic, I think there were 500+ CPW readers all trying to buy that flash within a few minutes. 🙂 I didn’t check exactly how many were in-stock, but it looked like quite a few…
My order went through but when you look at the description pictures it shows the Canon el 100 which sells for 101.76 so is the description wrong that it is a 470 ex I and really a el 100 which I don’t want t all!
I’m sure something is wrong, but not sure what. I assume you have a receipt which lists a Speedlite 470EX-AI flash, and if that’s not what they send you then you have a legitimate beef and multiple channels of recourse.
That is a rare lens, the EL.

There’s something very strange about that listing. The title and lead image are of the 470EX-AI. The product number and subsequent images are of the EL-100. The description is a munge of both. I wonder what you’ll get when you order this!

Did you get a receipt from Walmart? Does it say 470EX-AI?
Yes Walmart’s receipt stated its the 470EX-AI, but Adorama’s shipment email states it’s the EL-100
I received mine today, the receipt says 470EX-AI but the box contains the basic EL-100, I guess that explains the price.

What does Adorama CS say when you tell them you have a receipt that says 470EX-AI but received instead an EL-100?
I know that this goes way back to November but I just wanted to give kudos to Adorama for actually honoring this deal. Like everyone, I jumped in and ordered this through Walmart. I then read the description and saw the verbiage for the EL-100 on the bottom. I emailed Adorama (through the Walmart website) and asked to confirm that if it was indeed the 470EX-AI for $107.77. Two days later I got a reply saying that the item on the order was the same. A couple of days after that I received the EL-100. I called Adorama and told them they had sent the wrong item and the CS rep sent me a shipping label and told me to send it back for credit. I asked if they would honor the original deal and was told that she would have to check with “shipping” and I would hear in a few days. Crickets. I called again and this time the CS rep said that she would check with “credit” about honoring this deal. A couple of days later my credit card was adjusted for the return and I thought that would be the end of it. A day or two later, I got an email from the CS rep that I spoke with saying that they had an “update from credit”. If I had any questions, I should call. Well I did and found the right rep. who checked with someone and agreed to sell the unit at the original price. The $249 price was adjusted and after a week or so on backorder I receive the 470EX on 12/23. Sorry for the extra long missive but I really did just want to thank Adorama and CPW.
