What to Expect on Amazon Prime Day, October 13th and 14th

This year’s Amazon “Prime Day” will start on Tuesday, October 13th. The deals start at 3 AM ET on Tuesday and run 48 hours until 3 AM ET on Thursday. Amazon’s Prime Day will have many exciting deals, many restricted to Amazon Prime members only. Just like the previous five years, CanonPriceWatch will be watching all the deals.

Don’t expect deals on Canon cameras or lenses on Prime Day. Canon items are restricted by a MAP year-round and Prime Day is no exception (although in at least one of the past years there were massive price mistakes on Canon at the 3 AM start — these were fixed within 15 minutes). You can browse our 2019 live-update post, the 2018 live-update post, or our archive of Prime Day related deals for examples of the types of deals available. We expect to see great prices on memory cards, filters, bags, Rokinon lenses, color calibration, studio equipment, and perhaps a 3rd party lens or two. Deals sell out quickly, so be prepared to jump on them (or waitlist). It is also a perfect time to pick up Amazon devices (such as Echo, Echo Dot, Fire TV, Fire Tablet, Kindle and assorted subscriptions).

As many deals are restricted to Amazon Prime members only, now would be a good time to sign-up for a free 30-day trial of Prime if you haven’t yet already. Be sure to check back on Tuesday 3 AM for the deals!
