A word about the WD Elements Hard Drive:
This deal is especially popular because WD are using either “Red” or “White” 8 TB Western Digital hard drives inside these external drive enclosures. Instructions are available (for 8TB, but 10TB should be similar) on how to extract the drive from the enclosure. This is a fantastic deal as the Western Digital “Red” hard drives (suitable for NAS) typically go for about $300. “White” drives have similar performance characteristics to the “Red” drives.
