I really like the updates they have done to this lens. 5 stop IS is huge for a telephoto zoom, which by itself might be a reason to upgrade. If what they say about the focus hunting no longer being an issue than it would be hard to beat this incredibly sharp lens. Keep in mind that the Tamron G2 F2.8 is right around the same price though, offering a stop better light transmission and also having 5 stop IS. The Canon is probably going to be more consistent, but F4 really can’t be F2.8. It’s a tough call.
It’s the weight difference that has me going for the f/4. Those f/2.8 are beasts.
