Oh, astro shooting on a budget! Same as the Rokinon 14mm F2.8. I have that version, and it is pretty good. I have to say though that if you shoot APS-C then you would be better off with the 10mm F2.8 instead, made for crop cameras, if Astro is your game. It gives you a longer exposure time before star trails happen. If not familiar, look into the 500 rule for astrophotography. Keep in mind crop factor applies.

On a full frame like the 6D, it makes an inexpensive option for astro as well as landscape. Its 100% manual though, so keep that in mind. But, I don’t think you will find a lens this wide on focal and f-stop anywhere near this price.

Kevin, I have and use the 8mm f/3.5 on my 7D II and 24 f/1.4 or 14 2/8 Rok’s on my 5 D II and IV. But I got an unbeatable deal on the 14, from an honest Craigslist seller, who had offered the lens at $175, but later called and changed the price to FREE, as he spotted a 1-2mm long scratch in the front element. What he missed was that there also is some micro scratches, which do affect the image if shot into the sun. But front lit and night shots are just fine!!

Thanks for posting this deal on the Rokinon. I snapped it up with less than 10 minutes to spare. It is going on my 6DII to the Oregon Star Party next month.

That was a really good price, however, I picked up a Rokinon 16M-C 16mm f/2 for Canon for $239 on the sane day during a rather short Lightning Deal. Short, as in, it sold out extremely fast. Great fast astro photog lens for crop sensor. Infinity is in focus right its mark, too, unlike the 14mm which is way off focus on the infinity mark. I have the 14mm too, along with the 12mm & Samyang 8mm.
