The lowest price seen yet for the Canon EOS 5D Mark III is now $1849.00 from Electronics Valley via eBay. As Electronics Valley via eBay is not an authorized dealer, this is a grey market camera for which a 1-year Canon USA warranty is not guaranteed. Readers report that Canon USA has historically honored the warranty, but this is at their discretion. They may call to confirm your order — be sure to decline any upsells.

If you are not comfortable with grey market, please consider a street price of $2199, or our street price on the EOS 5D Mark IV.

I’ve never had any trouble along with thousands of others that buy gray. Just know your source and make sure it is a real Canon serial number. Good to go.

Buyer beware of grey market garbage. Don’t get stuck.

What makes it garbage? It is the same camera

    2. November 6, 2016 at 10:55 pm EDT

Not the same camera at all. Call 1-800-OKCANON. Also, no service available for gray market cameras. If it breaks, good luck.

Hi Joe, I can’t help but notice that your facebook profile says you work at an authorized Canon dealer as a sales associate. Could that be why you’re so against grey market goods?

Grey market cameras come from the same production lines as Canon USA models, they simply were destined for a different region and thus they have different warranties and accessories. We encourage readers to purchase from Canon USA authorized dealers because of the warranty but definitely people should have the (educated) choice — please don’t spread misinformation.

@CanonPriceWatch “different warranties and accessories” is the a compatibility problem with USA model accessories with the grey market camera? Or does everything fit just fine?

    4. November 7, 2016 at 9:54 pm EDT

Just call Canon directly is my suggestion. I have no interest in promoting my employer on your page.

Joe has no idea what he’s talking about. Grey market cameras are made on the same assembly line as USA cameras. Get your facts straight.

Do you think they can offer a lower price on holidays? The current deal is only slightly better than the latest best price of $1899 offered many times since more a year ago.
