We’re starting to see the first inklings of a discount on the EOS 5D Mark IV by Amazon. They’re running a promotion on purchases of the camera body-only or in kit format.
If you purchase a 5D Mark IV Camera Body or 5D Mark IV Body with 24-70mm Lens, you receive a $200 credit towards a future purchase at Amazon from their Camera, Photo & Video store. It’s usually not a problem to spend this credit, as the store includes many useful accessories such as memory cards, filters, and bags, for which Amazon usually has great prices.
Unfortunately, Amazon does collect tax to many states, but it is exciting to see discounts this early for a new product release.
I see this camera back around $2,400
Yup! I’ll be buying at least one more 5d3 and waiting for this to come down to about $2400 (what it should be)!

It’s not productive for me to comment on Amazon Rick. Buy mail order or from a store? I’ve serviced customers personally for 36 years over the counter. And I have never bought anything from Amazon in my life. Especially my Camera gear!

Wonder why they are discounting it so soon? Do they feel they overpriced it to start with? Or are preliminary orders not what they were hoping for?

I’m going to guess this camera isn’t going to sell as well as the Mark iii did when it came out. My Mark iii is still amazing
I’m guessing they did this to keep people from cancelling since they didn’t ship out a bunch of pre-orders today as expected.
