Significant Changes to Printer Bundle Deals Coming on May 1st

We’ve now heard from multiple sources that highly discounted bundle deals will no longer be offered after the current rebate period ends on April 30th. This will put an end to the bargains where the camera + printer (after $350 mail-in rebate) is priced much lower than the camera alone.

This is the LAST rebate period to take advantage of stellar printer bundle deals. Please note that many stores close for Passover beginning this evening, and remain closed until May 1st!

Take advantage of the following opportunities before they’re gone forever. We’re sad to see this go, as it’s one of the best reoccurring Canon deals.

Just pulled the trigger on 6D printer bundle an hour ago.

The 6D bundle is a great deal but the 5D Mark III and 1DX bundles are VERY poor deal. not even a deal.

Too many people selling theirs now that we are sure to get 5D Mark IV in August !!!!

The 5D3 deal from B&H Photo is a stellar deal, but yes, the 6D bundles have usually provided the best value.

BTW, there is a screw-up in the item description above. The 5D3 deal with the 24-105 and 430EX comes with a Pro-10 printer (worth $330 on open market). If you sold everything, the 5D3 price would come out to roughly $1699.

I placed my order, but it will not be shipped till May 5 ~ May 12, will the MIR still work at that time?

    1. April 21, 2016 at 1:35 pm EDT

Yes . . . you should receive an invoice based on the purchase date – not the shipment date.

You may want to call Customer Service and they can e-mail you an invoice dated today 🙂

If B&H, it mentioned they won’t process the order until May 1st does that mean when the invoicing will happen as well? If so it seems the MIR won’t work.

Is that the case? Trying to understand if I can still order one today and the invoice to show the same date.

Thanks so much for your posts on this deal over the last few months. I took advantage of one of the 5D3 deals with printer and am so grateful for the break in price..and I get a great printer to boot. Again, thank you

Have these deals happen often or is this actually the best deals in the past 5 years? I thought they put out bundle deals like these in late April and Black Friday? Or am I mistaken?

Since I’ve been doing them: 6 years ago these deals were pushed out a quarterly schedule with some gaps in between (old Pro-9000mkii printers). About a year to a year-and-a-half ago, they started doing them monthly (guessing to boost sales numbers and keep prices somewhat high/consistent while lowering the send-in period for the rebates). The Pro-10 deals are much rarer than the Pro-100 deals and really lower the price of the camera if you are just going to resell the rest of the items in the bundle. The Pro-10 deals usually only did occur once or twice a year (Black Friday Period & April/May as you asked). They are special and can yield significant profits for people that just resell the bundle in pieces. The profit you could expect a few years ago on Pro-10 deals could reach $400-500 on a $2,000 purchase. That’s dwindled with the monthly deals to $200-275. There are a few factors for that: demand (Sony and Nikon competing harder for market share), increased supply coming in from grey market (just based on what I’ve seen), and increased supply.

I’ve accumulated the following gear in 6 years on $450 and a lot of legwork with these deals: Canon 5DS, Canon 70-200 F2.8L II IS, Canon 70-300mm, Canon 16-35 F2.8L IS, Canon 35mm F1.4L, Canon Pixma Pro-100, Canon 40mm pancake, Canon 85mm F1.8. I’m sad to see them disappear 🙁

      $450??

        April 22, 2016 at 5:20 pm EDT

Yes, started with a rebate deal for a t1i and standard zoom lens @ $450 and haven’t spent anything else (after rebate and resale – probably over $90,000 before rebate + resale). Over the years of reselling subsequent rebate deals graduated to a t2i, t3i, t5i, 60D, 6D, 5D3, 5DS while accumulating lenses from cash generated on rebate deals in which I kept nothing for. Started with 18-55 lens, bought a 50mm, got a 40mm in a rebate deal for free when they were released, got a 70-300mm for free when they were released, and bought the others with cash gained from rebate deals (I’ve probably done over 35-40 in 6 years with average profit/amount in parts kept of $250 – not mentioning points on CCs). It was a nice hobby on top of my photo hobby and regular job! At this point the entire purchase and resale process takes about 1 hour of my time…$250/hr beats my regular pay!

Thank you for the information! I now know I need to get in on this deal as soon as possible. Crap I shouldn’t have waited so long!

      I should say “sold out.”

The 6d bundle at Adorama adds $63 for shipping, so I believe it’s slightly cheaper to go with b&h which has free shipping. Every other bundle on the 6d at Adorama was free shipping but the printer bundle.

Mine didn’t. May be if you are a NY resident.

Considering the fact that a new rebate is out from canon again, you may need to get “NEW MULTIPLE SOURCES” because the ones you were talking to were ALL WRONG. Unless you just work for Canon and was trying to get people to run out and buy cameras/printers?

I didn’t say the rebate was expiring. I said the advertised price of the bundles is now restricted. Which it has been since this change. Please read the post carefully.
