Super Hot: Sigma Contemporary 150-600mm for $700 BuyDig via eBay

BuyDig via eBay seems to be the only store that gets the concept of a “Cyber Monday Sale”: they have the Sigma Contemporary 150-600mm f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM for only $700.00. This is the lowest price we’ve seen yet for this fantastic lens.

Canon, Nikon, and Sigma mounts are available. The listing clearly states this is a brand new lens with a USA warranty. As BuyDig are an authorized Sigma dealer, this would be a 4-year Sigma USA warranty. This is an epic price, and will sell fast!

UPDATE: As of 8:30 AM, the listing is changed to “Open Box – Closeout”. This isn’t the first time BuyDig has modified an eBay listing after the fact (likely to hide the fact they’re selling below MAP.) Rest assured that the description at the time you purchased is the agreed condition as per eBay rules. Also, BuyDig has a history of listing things as “open box” or “refurbished”, and then shipping brand new items, so this is probably still new anyway. See here, here, here, and here.

UPDATE: As of 8:48 AM, Canon mount is out-of-stock. Congrats if you got in on the deal.

UPDATE: As of 11 AM, looks like Canon mount is back in stock!

I’d see that as a blessing — someone’s looking out for you and wanted you to buy a Sigma instead 🙂

but I dont want to end up 2 lens if buydig or paypal dont reverse. Paypal’s dispute resolution sucks – 9 days to make a decision. Never ever use paypal.

I own the tamron. It’s a great lens so you will be ok either way.

Is this better than the Tamron 150-600? Which one is better? They are the same price now. Thanks guys!

      November 30, 2015 at 8:59 pm EDT

some prefer this, some Tamron… this you can buy a dock and customize a little. In the end you matter more than either of these lens. Grab whatever brand you prefer. I have Tamron and I like it. I got this and will try and sell one of them after a while… resale value might be better on Sigma. Tamron does not come with a case so that’s extra.

Thank you Alvarow. I agree. The Sigma should have higher resale value. Let me know what you think when you have both please. I ordered them both to my New York address, but I’m traveling until late January, and won’t have a chance to try them until then. I’ll need to return one of them. (as much as I’d love to own both 🙂

I live in upstate NY. I have ordered thru Buydig numerous times (first order via buydig-ebay) and usually fedex ground from them in NJ to here is only one day. Ebay showed Dec 8th but when I tracked it directly thru Fedex I had a oleasant surprise.

Ordered mine early morning 11/30 when I noticed a price alert came in overnight from CPW, thanks CPW again you have saved me so many dollars! Lens arrived overnight to upstate New York, took a few test shots with the Canon 6d refurb I bought during the crazy refurb sale CPW clued me in on in October., fantastic results. I have tried the Tamron wich I barrowed and shot with on a 70d, good results but I decided to wait until I could buy the Sigma based on the history I have with other Sigma lenses. I never thought I would get this lens for this price and buydig has always been good to me. Thanks Again CPW.

    Got one. Thanks.
Does anybody know if it is necessary to register with Sigma for extended ( 3 years additional) warranty?
If yes then how long do we have to register?

    1. Photofill
      December 3, 2015 at 12:33 pm EDT

Where does it say 4 year warranty? I got mine yesterday and it only says 1 year warranty.

      1. CanonPriceWatch
        December 3, 2015 at 12:35 pm EDT

There is a one year Sigma international warranty plus a three year USA warranty.

I have a similar situation. Emailed through ebay for a paper trail and they stated there was no tracking yet because the order is still being processed, and should be shipped in another 48-72 hours (6-7 days after ordering)… a little disappointed since it said nothing about it being out of stock when we ordered. Their policy states 1-2 days for shipping.

    Becky, an alternative

    December 5, 2015 at 9:11 pm EDT

Mine warranty says 1 year America’s Limited warranty. However, it appears if we register the warranty at the sigma site, then we get a 3 year extended USA warranty. So we must register to get extended USA warranty ??

    1. CanonPriceWatch
      December 5, 2015 at 9:38 pm EDT

I don’t think you are required to register for the 3-year extended warranty, but you may as well to be safe.
