Holy crap! I’d rather get the 35… but at this price I think the 50 might be in my future shortly…

    Is sent?

    1. November 20, 2015 at 4:13 pm EDT

He’s usually pretty fast, often within an hour he’ll get back to you, else every other time I’ve e-mailed it’s been within a day(if I emailed at an odd time of day)

  7. November 20, 2015 at 4:21 pm EDT

WOW !! WOW !!! WOW!!!! Amazing price 🙂

  8. November 20, 2015 at 4:26 pm EDT

Does the 50mm still have focus issues or have they been resolved?

  9. November 20, 2015 at 4:52 pm EDT

I never had a focus issue Alfonse Vu. Maybe you mean the old sigma 50 version. The one that has a gold ring. I had that one and it had a back focusing issue in low light.

  10. November 20, 2015 at 8:45 pm EDT

Haven’t rented this lens yet to see if I like it… anyone want to chime in and let me know if it’s worth it? Or should I just hold out for the Canon 50 1.2 ?

    1. November 21, 2015 at 10:22 am EDT

Absolutely stunning images out of this lens. Don’t “waste” the extra money on the Canon 1.2 unless you’ve got money to spare.

    2. November 21, 2015 at 4:12 pm EDT

I’ve been using this lens for a couple of month and IT IS THE BEST 50mm!! I think it is even sharper than canon 1.2!!

    3. November 23, 2015 at 3:43 am EDT

People seem to love it. I’d get it but someone above is saying not a real Sigma (grey), and not an authorized dealer. So I’ll wait to see Black Friday sales.

        November 23, 2015 at 8:01 am EDT

If it’s in the Street Price program, you can be 100% guaranteed it’s from an authorized Sigma dealer and that it’s not grey market.

    4. November 23, 2015 at 3:23 pm EDT

It is an authorized dealer. That person is trolling as they own another camera store.

    5. November 23, 2015 at 5:14 pm EDT

I bought this lens when it first came out for full retail price. It is a wonderful lens and stays on my camera 90% of the time. The build quality is excellent. It is HEAVY and big but if I’m lugging my SLR around that is not a problem. I chose this over the Canon 1.2 because I didn’t want to settle for the focus problems that the Canon lens reportedly has.

    6. November 23, 2015 at 7:25 pm EDT

I own the non Art sigma 50mm 1.4 and the image stunningly sharp. My customers have been blown away by its super sharpness including one personality from a major movie studio. The Art lens is even better. The Canon 1.2 is over priced and not as sharp as the Sigma. I just recently invested in a Canon 200mm f/2.8L, EOS 6d and EOS 7D M2. Otherwise I would have put down an order for this lens. At CanonPriceWatch.com why don’t you just block this Shady POS and be done with it.

  11. November 20, 2015 at 10:41 pm EDT

Wow! Incredible price for a great lens

  12. November 21, 2015 at 1:41 am EDT

I have been using the non-art Sigma 50mm f/1.4 for sometime now. And have been using it on Eos 7d. My customers have been blown away by the sharpness. One movie studio executive complimented that it was the most detailed photos ever submitted to him. I am only guessing that the 50mm f/1.4 Art would be even better.

  13. November 21, 2015 at 2:39 am EDT

Is this price also for the Nikon Verson ?

    1. November 22, 2015 at 1:49 am EDT

    This is Gray Market

    1. November 23, 2015 at 12:48 am EDT

This is NOT gray market. This is from a Sigma USA authorized dealer, with a 4-year Sigma USA warranty.

    2. November 23, 2015 at 12:54 am EDT

No, the STREET PRICE for $679 is from an authorized dealer.

    3. November 23, 2015 at 1:30 am EDT

It’s not I am telling you it’s fraud

    4. November 23, 2015 at 1:31 am EDT

The seller is not a Sigma authorized dealer

    5. November 23, 2015 at 6:59 am EDT

      1. John
        November 23, 2015 at 11:20 pm EDT

It’s legit. I ordered it paid through Paypal and got a receipt from the authorized vendor. It’s a name that every photographer is familiar with.

    6. November 23, 2015 at 7:29 am EDT

Stephanie Davis: You know recognize the name of the dealer that I sent you to, yes? They are certainly an authorized Sigma USA dealer and this is NOT fraudulent. This above user (Shadi Sayes) hasn’t even submitted the street price inquiry form, so I don’t know how he thinks he knows this is or isn’t fraud. If you have any questions, ask the dealer rep who replied to your e-mail for his office phone number, and call him at his office — which matches the phone number posted on the dealer’s website.

    7. November 23, 2015 at 7:39 am EDT

Stephanie Davis: You mean this comment above?

    8. November 23, 2015 at 7:43 am EDT

CanonPriceWatch.com so weird… I even refreshed the browser and a minute ago this comment wasn’t showing. Yes they are definitely a well known dealer, I’ve emailed him about my concerns just to double check on everything before moving forward with purchase. Thank you 🙂

    9. November 23, 2015 at 8:55 am EDT

I just did this deal And it IS from an authorized dealer that carries the 4 yr Warrenty.

  22. November 23, 2015 at 12:47 am EDT

    Gray Market

    1. November 23, 2015 at 7:42 am EDT

This is NOT gray market. It is sold by a Sigma USA authorized dealer, and comes with a 4-year Sigma USA warranty.

    2. November 23, 2015 at 7:58 am EDT

If you do not have the full picture and do not understand how the street price program works, please stop spreading misinformation, as it is confusing / ruining this for everyone else. Please read the FAQ carefully.

I went to buy it and it was Gray Market

    1. November 23, 2015 at 3:45 am EDT

Could you provide proof of how you know it’s not a real Sigma, and not an authorized dealer. It’s a good deal if it’s not a fake. Thanks. 🙂

    2. November 23, 2015 at 3:49 am EDT

I asked Sigma USA and the assured me that this is not a Sigma USA Dealer

    3. November 23, 2015 at 3:49 am EDT

Don’t believe everything you see here

    4. November 23, 2015 at 4:05 am EDT

There is a lot of fraud going on we careful, Read this it’s not Sigma butA lot are doing the same thing fake serial fake products.
Go to the place you trust.

    5. November 23, 2015 at 7:30 am EDT

Carolyn Price Reed: That’s because Shadi Sayes doesn’t know the name of the dealer that is actually selling the item. If you complete the street price form, you get sent to an AUTHORIZED SIGMA USA dealer. Shadi didn’t even fill out the street price form…

    6. November 23, 2015 at 7:44 am EDT

Shadi Sayes: If you don’t have the complete picture, or if you don’t understand how this works, please do NOT post incorrect information on my facebook page and ruin/confuse this for everyone else. In fact, the way you’ve posted this 5 or 6 times is very malicious and I question your intent.

    7. November 23, 2015 at 8:17 am EDT

Shadi Sayes: I now understand why you’re insisting on spreading misinformation — I see from your Facebook profile you own a camera store (Image One Camera and Video) which is a Sigma USA authorized dealer. You’re not a consumer trying to buy this lens, but likely just another dealer that is angry that our readers are paying less for the exact same item that you sell at full price.

I think it’s unethical for you to pretend to be a customer and come here and spread misinformation & lies. It really speaks volumes as to the reputability of your camera store.

    8. November 23, 2015 at 11:35 am EDT

It’s Unethical to miss lead people.
Lying to people so you can have followers that’s unethical.
You won’t Understand (MAP) because you are another online fake.com
Now saying that I am angry lol I just don’t like you Deceiving people.
And for everyone here be careful from fake items even having a serial number that it’s fakeif it’s too good to be true it’s too good to be true

    9. November 23, 2015 at 2:33 pm EDT

If impersonating a customer and making comments like “I went to buy it and it was Gray Market” isn’t deceiving people, I don’t know what is. This item comes brand new from a Sigma USA authorized dealer that is more well-known and has a better reputation than your very own camera store.

    10. November 23, 2015 at 6:41 pm EDT

Absolutely ridiculous to own a camera store and do this to another company. That’s dropping many levels below pathetic Shadi. I hope your name doesn’t imply the type of person you are- but it’s looking like the perfect fit. Happy holidays.

    11. November 23, 2015 at 7:13 pm EDT

    14. November 24, 2015 at 1:00 am EDT

Why is it unethical to try and protect the end consumer from being taken advantage of. If me as a consumer was misled and purchased a gray market product not knowing, we would have no recourse.

    15. November 24, 2015 at 1:04 am EDT

We as photographers depend on the experts from all the different camera stores to lead us in the right direction. If they can help prevent us from getting ripped off by unscrupulous individuals or companies, then so be it. Unfortunately, there will always people out the that will try to take advantage of the unsuspecting. The prices should tell the entire story be it grey market or even stolen merchandise.

    16. November 24, 2015 at 8:16 am EDT

Rick Avery: The issue is: these prices are NOT gray market. These lenses are sold directly by a Sigma USA authorized dealer, and they are Sigma USA model with a 4-year Sigma USA warranty. Shadi has spread incorrect information and libel all over this post, as he is another retailer with a clear conflict of interest.

It’s sad that when photographers see discounts on camera lenses they immediately think it’s gray market or stolen — it’s proof of the success of minimum advertised price policies and unilateral pricing policies that camera manufacturers have instituted to ensure there’s a premium on this type of good.

    17. November 24, 2015 at 9:25 am EDT

If work in Retail? You will know that lenses don’t have 30% profit it’s 8% to 12% if the manufacturer set a rebate then they cover it but when the price is to good to be true it’s Gray Market or Fake.
That’s why every company in the US is suing you partners.

    18. November 24, 2015 at 9:50 am EDT

Again, authorized retailers can sell for less if they choose. Just because it’s a discount doesn’t imply gray or stolen, this is sold directly from an authorized Sigma dealer.

Since you yourself are an authorized Sigma dealer too, surely you can see the healthy holiday rebate that’s enabling this deal right now (or are you keeping that all as profit for yourself?). Stop spreading fear and lies and intimidating people to pay full price.

    19. November 24, 2015 at 10:04 am EDT

      It has $100 not $270.
Stop making money from your partners by deceiving people to believe that it’s real fake is Fake Gray Market is Gray Market.
We should look out for people that work hard for there money and not lie to them so you can make a% cut!?
      I rest my case

    20. November 24, 2015 at 10:36 am EDT

I’m sorry, I missed the part where you provided some proof that this is gray market. All I’ve heard you say is the price is too low; meanwhile, many other readers are posting about their positive experiences working with the authorized Sigma USA dealer on this deal. Which is now sold out by the way, given the hundreds of readers who purchased.

    21. November 24, 2015 at 10:42 am EDT

I urge every customer to call Sigma USA and share the serial number they will be surprised.
As I told you before I rest my case.

    22. November 24, 2015 at 10:49 am EDT

I encourage customers to do that as well, and Sigma USA will tell them it’s a USA lens with 4-year Sigma USA warranty. Enjoy the deal, if you got in on it.

CanonPriceWatch.com I just had a notification that you had “mentioned” me in a comment, but i’m not seeing it. I also don’t see the comment that the other lady left with the article about grey market? Any reason why that would be deleted? seems suspicious :/

    1. November 23, 2015 at 7:42 am EDT

I still see my comment above… that other reader does NOT know what they’re talking about, they never even submitted the street price form.

    2. November 23, 2015 at 7:48 am EDT

I wrote you back on the comment above… so odd that one minute the comment wasn’t showing… the next it was. Must be Facebook 🙂

    3. November 23, 2015 at 7:50 am EDT

Stephanie Davis: I’ve noticed that too. When I go to reply to comments that I get e-mailed, they often don’t always show up right away.

    4. November 23, 2015 at 8:07 am EDT

I figured out why Shadi has such an opposition to this street price deal. If you click on their profile, they own a camera store. So they’re likely just trolling here and trying to confuse or scare off people who are getting a great deal and not paying full price.

  25. November 23, 2015 at 7:40 am EDT

To all: there is a reader on this facebook post who has gone around spamming “Gray Market” everywhere. I don’t know why he did this, but this is clearly NOT a gray market item, as it is sold by very well-known a Sigma USA authorized dealer. I invite other readers who have purchased via the street price program (or even those who have completed this order already) to vouch for its authenticity via commenting here.

The user said he asked Sigma USA if CanonPriceWatch was an authorized dealer. We are NOT, but your purchase is directly from an authorized dealer. We are just helping this Sigma USA dealer sell this lens at a deal price lower than the Sigma minimum advertised price, thus the secrecy.

    1. November 23, 2015 at 8:03 am EDT

Ahh, figured out why they had such a violent opposition. They are a another camera store owner…

    2. November 23, 2015 at 8:16 am EDT

Ha !!! That explains it. Always had. a great experience with CPW vendor partners.

I am happy to vouch for the Street Price program. I have purchased a camera body and a lens through this program and the transactions have been flawless each time. I purchased through authorized retailers and received the price that was promised on Canon Price Watch. The customer service was excellent and all my questions were answered promptly either by Canon Price Watch or the retailer I was connected with. I’ve already posted my endorsement on the Street Price page, just wanted to reiterate it here because someone is trying to scare people away from this because their store can’t compete on price. Don’t believe the trolls, people. This is the real deal and CPW is a great site which is highly dedicated to its users.

I have purchased two lenses through the Street Price program of CanonPriceWatch. Both sellers were well-known internationally. In fact, I bought my copy of the Sigma 50mm Art through the Street Price program. The CPW Street Price program is a great way to save money on a new lens, get it from a reputable dealer, and have a full US/Canada warranty from the manufacturer. Nobody should hesitate to buy through the CPW Street Price program. It is an honest deal with no catches.

  29. November 23, 2015 at 3:58 pm EDT

I’ve been reading all this through the CPW page and didn’t even know it was on Facebook! I’ve come here to say that I’ve now bought 2 lenses using the Street Price program and everything was 100% legit, as has been stated over and over again. I’m just a satisfied customer who would like for the program to continue.

What a joke this Shady Shadi guy is.

First, if you’re going to accuse someone of unethical practices, at least know your facts (something which you obviously don’t know). Second, I find it ironic and very humorous that your attempt to maliciously taint someone’s reputation only taints your own. I would never give my business to a camera store with an owner or an employee as slanderous and utterly clueless as you.

Oh, and by the way, as someone who has actually used the Street Price program, I have nothing but good things to say about it and highly recommend it.

  32. November 23, 2015 at 4:32 pm EDT

Rest easy with this process. I have had 3 separate orders using the Pricewatch team. A 5D Markiii, canon flash, and canon L lens. Each time product came with US warranty, and from a authorized dealer. With quick delivery, order away….. The hardest part of this decision is convincing my wife I need this lens…. LOL

    1. November 23, 2015 at 4:35 pm EDT

That’s the hard part for me too… lol

Folks you should be very comfortable dealing with and trust the people behind this site. They will save you thousands and will get you the best customer experience. And all this FREE.

I have purchased three or four lenses through the Street Price program. Each and every time I was connected to a reputable dealer and had enjoyed all the benefits (US warranty) of the dealer program.

I have also bought quite a few other items based on the deals that Gordon has posted saving a few thousand bucks in the process.

Overall I am very happy with the work done by the people behind CanonPriceWatch.com

In reference to the spamming that is going on, I vouch for the street price program. I have purchased a camera and lens, both separate orders. Both items were legit. No issues at all. And I must add great customer service from canonpricewatch. Thanks guys!

  36. November 23, 2015 at 6:44 pm EDT

I have purchased two Canon L lenses and a battery grip through the street price program and I was COMPLETELY satisfied with the transactions. The items were not gray market, the dealers were authorized, and I received my rebates without a hitch. CPW’s street price program is definitely legit and the customer service is excellent which is why I’m seriously considering purchasing the Sigma Art 50mm now!

I took advantage of this offer. I’m just stopping by to say thanks and also to let the ppl who are sitting on the fence know that this is a legit offer. After I paid (through Paypal so I never had to pass my credit card info) I received an order confirmation and receipt from the seller….you’ll be familiar with the seller. My credit card statement shows Paypal*SELLERNAME.

    Thanks CPW.
