I’m not the biggest supporter of mirrorless cameras, but throw in the EF adapter and I just might be interested.

Martin Pinnau: Great call. I’ve updated the post to mention the white-box adapter.

I was just watching a review of these on youtube lamenting the lack of a built in viewfinder and the problem of having to pay extra for one. This makes the M3 a more palatable option.

I picked up an adapter on ebay for $35 shipped… I’m trying to find a 22mm on the cheap now….

I have so much canon glass but the reviews seem to point out an Achilles heel with the poor auto focus system. The deal is great but with only 4 other M series lenses available, and an auto focus that puts Sony a6000 in the lead by a year or more it’s a difficult choice to make. I think canon is betting on all their users whom own a lot of EF and EF-S glass to buy this just for the size and mirrored option. I know I’m debating it.

Excellent points, I must admit! However, IMO, the complaints about the sub-par auto-focussing with the older M body – despite a great stride forward with a firmware upgrade – ended with the M3 release. I’ve played with *both* EOS M versions – I own an M body (with that firmware upgrade) and recently had substantial hands-on time with an M3 at my local camera store – to clearly experience just how much quicker the M3 AF is than the M was. No. CONTEST!

Just ordered the M3 body (B) with the EVF-DC1.
