Why does everyone go crazy over these?
I have the 35mm Art. One of my favorite lenses. Maybe because people like them?
Aren’t they huge and don’t have IS?
I have the 50mm and 24mm ART lenses and love them. Yes they’re quite large but so are the Canon L primes of those focal ranges (which cost more and also don’t have IS).
The optics are great, build quality very nice and focus ring very smooth and perfect for video work.
Now that the price has gone down a bit it’s a total deal!
This lens comes up as a bargain at current street cost through CPW, it is the sharpest 50mm lens other than the several thousand Zeiss glass. I currently own the Canon 1.4, and it does a fine job, or should I say, adequate job perfect for most, but if you a professional and need to print you pictures for your clients, you want to use the lense wide open without loosing sharpness, the the Sigma is your lens. I got mine today from B&H, I did try to order it here, but it sold out, this was last week, the deal came back, but I had already ordered it. No time to test it yet, as I am on a job where that requires my Canon 70-200 2.8 IS II, but tomorrow there will be time…
