EOS 5Ds Now In-Stock at B&H, Amazon; New Combo Mail-in Rebate

B&H Photo Video now has the Canon EOS 5Ds in-stock at $3699.00 — their site lists it as available to ship tomorrow (Monday). They’re also offering a 2% reward. Amazon is also showing it in-stock.

There’s also a new stackable mail-in rebate: when you purchase lenses at the same time as the EOS 5Ds, you can effectively double the existing rebate. You can find the rebate form here. It clearly says that this new offer “may be combined with other Canon promotional offers running concurrently”.

You are eligible for the double mail-in rebate with purchases at street price, please inquire for details.

Better step your game up canon! Sony is looking really nice right now. I don’t want to jump ship but it seems I might have to!!

Eh. Sony doesn’t have any lenses and those lens adapters are worth shit. Lol.

Lets see when Sony will make a 85 1.2 or even 1.4, 135 f2? The only lens attracts me right now is the 55 1.8 but i think ill stick with the 5d3 for another while.

Don’t get me wrong I love my 5d3 and all the amazing L lens I have. But I def think Sony is winning the camera race against canon and Nikon.

I don’t get why people feel compared to come to a Canon price website and try to put down Canon and build up Sony equipment.

If you want to go Sony, then fine…but why lurk on a website dedicated to Canon gear?

And before you declare the Sony camera to be so great…let’s wait and see for the results in actual use.

I do know this: Canon has a great history of making world class photographic equipment. Their equipment performs well, has great ergonomics, lasts, and is backed up by great customer service. That’s hard to replicate.

My guess is when all is said and done that the Canon cameras will do just fine vis a vis the Sony equipment.

        It’s simple…they’re trolling 🙂

Sony a7rII smokes this in my opinion. Does this shoot 4k internally? Yeah I’ll be buying Sony.

Not to mention the Sony sensors have way better DR than the Canons.

I will grant you that the Sony has the upper hand in video. But that is their area of expertise. And just like Sony has a history in video that is hard to match, so Canon has a history in still photography that is hard to match.

For stills I think the Canon camera and its ecosystem will be hard to beat.

Canon lenses blow away Sony’s, the r version will be a killer body for landscape work, this is not a video camera. Remember body’s come and go, lenses are forever….

      Have fun with that LOL

  4. June 14, 2015 at 12:39 pm EDT

    Sony A7rII for me.

  5. June 14, 2015 at 4:45 pm EDT

And 15 people who shoot high end studio shoots got excited. Meh.

  6. June 14, 2015 at 5:57 pm EDT

    Enjoy those adapters lol.

What are there so many Sony Trolls on the Canon List?

I’ll pick one of these up in a year for half the price.

Sony A7 and etc….as I read here , well it can be a good camera but if you talking as a professional without intention to offend no one and I may be wrong but can you imagine bumping ISO at 25600 how much noise will be created….? , Second a high megapixels camera means details…and what type of details are going to be extracted from a low light scene if high 25600 ISO will needed to compose the shot for crispy details…?

    1. June 14, 2015 at 11:32 pm EDT

That was meant as a brag. No one is going to shoot at that kind of ISO.

  10. June 14, 2015 at 9:08 pm EDT

I’ll pick one when the price drops the $3k mark. With luck at the end of the year.

I’m a Nikon guy, and I’d rather have the Sony A7R II than this Canon (or any future Nikon, unless Nikon blows me away with something as spectacular as the A7R II)
