We have a special street price of $8199.00 on the EF 500mm f/4L IS II USM, brand new sealed from an Canon authorized dealer, with a full Canon USA warranty. See our other street prices.
Compare with a regular price of $9499 — this is a 14% discount on an extremely popular super-telephoto lens; this lens was $10,499 as recently as August (before the September price drop!)
I don’t own one, but use one regularly and damn is it a fine lens. Super sharp wide open and very lightweight. If I had $8199 in loose change between my couch cushions, I’d buy one for sure.
dream lens, can’t afford it ….
Hmm ONLY $8199 you say?
It’s a good thing it comes with its own suitcase because if I bought one, the wife would send me packin’! 😉
Jonathan J. Collazo get me one lol
I already did, it’s in the trunk of the Zo6
awesome!
I asked the wife and it looks like we’ll be paying the mortgage this year instead. There’s always next year.
Matt – that’s your mistake: Always act first and ask permission later!
You mean “forgiveness” not permission… 🙂
*drools*
I passed out a second but when I came to….I passed out again! my plan is, you buy it so I can borrow it from you?? I had to ask! Merry Christmas Andy 🙂
This would definitely not fly under the radar in my house. I try to stick to lenses that kind-of-look-like ones I already have. No questions asked. Show up with this bad boy, and that’s the end of that.
“Honey, thats just my 70-200 II with the extra big lens hood.” Maybe?
Holding out for a stellar deal on a 600 f/4 eventually 🙂
We have a stellar deal on a 600mm II, feel free to contact us. 🙂
Just because I’m hoping for a deal doesn’t mean that I can probably afford it lol. Your website is fantastic! I felt smart about gray market stuff from your website and even more informed after getting an “important” gray market email from Canon today. With the 600 II, I’d love to luck into the 8100 refurbished price after the 15% rebate….but it will never be in stock haha 🙂
I’ve owned this lens for a little over a year now (paid about $1800 more than this price, unfortunately) and it is spectacular. I shoot with it handheld 95% of the time and it produces great images not only at 500mm, but at 700mm and 1000mm when combined with the 1.4X III and 2X III teleconverters. The image stabilization is fantastic when shooting handheld. I have no problem getting sharp images of perched birds or stationary wildlife handheld at shutter speeds of 1/60 for the 500mm bare and 1/100 at 700mm with the 1.4X teleconverter.
Still love my V1 and it was 2G’s cheaper.
Rachana Son lets both get one!
Or I could buy a 7D II w/ a f2.8L 70–200 zoom and a 2X teleconverter and have $$$ left over. Of course not as good but still, not bad.
Nice glass! That ones next!!!
Is this a permanent street price or a temporary one?
Any great deals on the 600 or 800mm?
Yes. Contact us for the deal on the 600mm II.
