This is really tempting. If I hadn’t just bought a 6D I’d be all over this. Unfortunate because this would pair exceptionally well with a 6D. I’m still holding out hope that Canon has a 50mm 1.2L mark II or even a 50mm 1.4 mark II in the pipe for 2015. I love my nifty fifty, but I’m dying for a little more pop in the bokeh and a little more low light capability. Conventional wisdom says the 50mm 1.2 has some of the best bokeh in the world, but the sharpness isn’t quite there. Fingers crossed for 2015!

After my experience with the 35mm ART, I have to assume a LOT of Sigma’s refurbs are returns from people who weren’t getting consistent focusing. Not sure if the lack of consistent focusing is due to a lens or a lens/body combo. Also not sure if Sigma would see that type of performance as something that was “out of spec” and needed refurbishing. Nice price but… yikes… That’s a scary buy.

I purchased a refurb 50 Art through the Sigma Outlet website and could not be happier. Perfect AF consistency and sharpness at all distances after minor tweaking via the USB Dock. Arrived without a blemish and indistinguishable from new.

What is the warranty for the sigma refurbs? it may be worth the extra $50 to get the four year deal.

Little nervous about buying a Sigma refurbished… Is there refurb program as reliable as Canon’s?
