New Rebates Starting Sunday include “Huge Rebate” on EOS-1D X

One of our reliable sources read our prediction post and let us know that a new mail-in rebate period is indeed starting on Sunday, October 26th, and it includes a “huge rebate” on the EOS-1D X. The street price from authorized dealers is currently $6099 vs. a MAP of $6799, and we’re looking forward to seeing how big this rebate is. This is the first time we’ve seen a significant discount on a 1-series body.

We’re also told that the rebate list is “much broader” with more lenses, and in some cases, increased lens rebate amounts. We’ll post more once we can get a hold of the rebate list and amounts. Please contact us if you have any info.

If you purchase something through a link on our site, we may get a small share of the sale (at no cost to you). Please read our disclosure for more info.

Fingers crossed for a 6D with 24-105 kit showing up for less than $2000 street price! It’s so close, I may finally pull the trigger either way, but it would be nice to get that good of a deal on that kit.

We do not expect any change in the camera rebates, other than the 1D X.

Gotta love that the 1D bodies are now in reach of mere mortals. Remember when these things used to cost $8000?

I will be watching this with great interest as I missed the CPW Group Buy in March.
Thanks for the details and updates!

Yes, our street prices are from authorized dealers and would be fully eligible for any mail-in rebate.

Any info as to why Canon.ca is so stingy with rebates? The last one they offered was from November of 2013. It seems Canon US is much more concerned with acquiring new business.

Canon Canada has been running instant rebates, rather than mail-in rebates. They aren’t as visible to the end consumer as mail-in rebates.
