Street Price Drop: EOS 6D for $1439 AR from an Authorized Dealer

The street price on the EOS 6D Body has dropped to $1439 after the Canon $200 mail-in rebate. Our street prices are always brand new from authorized dealers selling Canon USA models with full Canon USA warranty.

If you want to save a few more dollars there’s an import model deal for $1349 from a reputable unauthorized dealer (this is part of the eBay Frenzy that ends tomorrow). But we recommend spending the extra $90 to get a US model and Canon USA warranty via our street price program.

Do you expect MAP to last through the end of the year or is it worth it to wait for the holiday season for better deals?

It’s really hard to predict — all we know is there hasn’t been a single major MAP violation in 5 months, so Canon is still enforcing MAP very hard.

Whether or not we have better deals all depends on the rebates from Canon. If the rebates improve then our street prices will improve as well.

And no rumors about the rebate for the 6D being extended? I was originally going to purchase in early December when typical price drops have occurred in the past. With MAP in place and us having to rely on rebates to help improve prices, I’m wondering if the current price is about as good as it will get (plus or minus maybe a hundred) since $200 seems to be their go to rebate amount.

Thanks in advance for any opinions. I greatly appreciate hearing your thoughts.

I think there’s a good chance the 6D rebate will be extended. My personal thoughts are that I don’t see prices dropping more than $50-$100 lower than the current street price, and that will only happen if they put in a $300 MIR or instant rebate.

The Ebay frenzy deal you link to is $1,449.99. And the seller “is currently away until Sep 29, 2014, and is not processing orders at this time. You can add this item to your watch list to purchase later. “

Yes, that Frenzy deal ended last Friday. This post is one week old.
