Last Week for Rebates; Canon Price Change Coming in April

A reminder that this is the last week for Canon’s mail-in rebate: of up to $200 off twenty different L-lenses. Purchases must be dated March 29th or before to be eligible for the rebate.

We have also heard that a “price adjustment” (and not the good kind) will happen a few days after the rebate period ends. At this time we recommend purchases during the current rebate or refurb sale as it may be the lowest prices that we’ll see for a while. We’ll provide more details as we hear…

We list the lenses, the rebate amount, and after-rebate prices below. Some of the lenses (in bold) are great deals as the price is close to the very low prices that we saw last year! There have been a few double-dips (even a triple-dip) but no major movements on prices during this month.

Here’s a link to the mail-in rebate form. Just like previous rebates, the rebate is given in the form of an AMEX gift card, which can be refunded to a check on demand. Recent Canon mail-in rebates have been highly reliable.

If you purchase something through a link on our site, we may get a small share of the sale (at no cost to you). Please read our disclosure for more info.

what’s the likelihood of a triple dip on the EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM?

I’d say pretty slim, but I’ve seen odder things happen. 🙂

What’s the consensus on the price adjustment? May be worth purchasing the lens before April just in case. Can always return it.

I will have more info tomorrow. I am confirming a few things. So far what I’ve heard is not good.

Thank you very much. I’ll keep an eye out for it.

I am happy I struck this month 🙂 In NJ no tax from B&H. Got the 16-35L. Bought the 6D Kit with the 24-105L, sold the 24-105L to a camera club member cheap, sold my 10-22 to another club member. Got an e-mail from Canon re: my rebate and that it is being processed. All is well here.

My rebate for last week flew through the processing. In January it took 3 weeks but this time it was sent out in under one week.

Do you expect the refurb 5d3 prices to go up? Saving to buy one through the loyalty program.

I don’t expect refurbished prices to change.

I read through Eric’s post too fast. Missed the SAVING up for the 5d3 part. Wanted to let him know there’s 50+ in stock!

Ahh, yes! They are available right now. But going fast, as usual, down to 55 in-stock from 99 when they restocked yesterday.

Going on safari in October. It has been an expensive couple months. Already got a 60d, 70d, tamron 70-200, canon 15-85, canon 24-70 f4 and canon 100-400. Last piece is the 5d3. They say three bodies is ideal. Unfortunately I can’t afford 3 5d3s. Plan is the 70d with the 100-400, 5d3 with the 70-200 and the 60d with the 15-85 incase the animals get real close. Will use the 24-70 on the 5d3 for landscapes.

Do you expect the EF-S 10-22 to increase from its current price of $629 in April? Also, is there much chance of it dropping in the next few months to anywhere close to its price during the holidays ($529) via rebates or otherwise?

I got a rebate from Canon on a 24-70ii on Adorama. Can I purchase another lens and get a rebate on it? A local camera shop told me that there’s a limit of how many rebates you can file? Is this right?

You can buy one of each lens during the rebate. As long as you buy two different lenses you are okay. You can’t buy a 2nd 24-70 II.

Any chance of the 70-300L actually being in stock? If not, I need to order a new one before the rebate ends.
