would you consider the 70-300L at $1229 “double dipped”, or can we expect lower before the month is up?

I think that one’s already a good deal as it’s even cheaper than the price it was at during December ($1249).

Hopefully it goes triple dip. Same as the 24-70 f4. I would like to have it for $1599 AR.

what makes this one better than the version I?

    1. March 17, 2014 at 6:37 pm EDT

It’s sharper, better contrast, and is also lighter.

Fantstic lens. Pretty much my everday shooter

Tamron’s got a better lens for less than what’s being offered. I rented it and compared to the new Canons Mk II. Tamron was sharper….if you could tell.

eh I’ll stick to my mk i version, I’ve shot the same image using both and the mkii is slightly better. not worth paying more when I can fix in post

It was $1,699 the lowest I’ve seen

  11. March 18, 2014 at 2:02 am EDT

I think $1,699 should be the norm on that new 24-70 II for not having an IS

I purchased the 70-200 2.8 is ii yesterday from Amazon. It was on sale for 2, 359. Plus the 200 rebate. 2, 159 for the 70-200 not to bad.

Awesome deal… This is the same deal I got back during the holiday.

Enjoying this lens every day. Thought I would missed the IS from the 24-105mm when I sold it, but the picture quality is totally exceptional. Maybe it will only be beaten when the 24-70 2.8 II IS version comes out, if it does come out.

It’s still a very expensive lens, but the enjoyment you get in return is in so many folds much more.

What about the TAMRON 24-70 2.8? Any thoughts?
