EOS 6D and 5D Mark III Coming Soon in Deals at eBay

We can now add the EOS 6D to the list of known Thanksgiving and Black Friday deals. BigValueInc via eBay will likely have the EOS 6D for $1400 on Thanksgiving day, and we suspect they are the retailer offering the EOS 5D Mark III for $2445 on Black Friday.

To get e-mailed when these deals start, set a notification on the 5D Mark III or set a notification on the EOS 6D.

We’ve received a lot of questions about BigValueInc. They’re an unauthorized dealer, but we still think this is a very good deal:

  • They sell split kits: you’ll receive your 5D Mark III or 6D in a Kit box with the lens removed.
  • They have a history of great deals over the last couple of years. The vast majority of our readers report that they received US model items, which are eligible for Canon warranty service. Canon doesn’t ask for warranty cards when going for warranty service, nor do they care if you purchased it from an unauthorized retailer (we did a survey last year).
  • We’ve had hundreds of readers mention their purchase from BigValueInc was successful and uneventful, but we’ve also heard a few reports of readers receiving non-US model bodies. We think the chance of this happening is very low, their eBay feedback is 98%+.
  • Given the large price difference vs. authorized dealers ($250 for 6D, $550 for 5D Mark III — enough to cover a third-party warranty or put towards new lenses) this is a great deal and will sell out quickly.

If you have any stories (good or bad) about BigValueInc please share it in a comment and help your fellow readers out.

If you purchase something through a link on our site, we may get a small share of the sale (at no cost to you). Please read our disclosure for more info.

I log you guys. I’m keeping a close on any 5D sales and this site helps plenty. Been tempted to go with the Canon loyalty program, but I’m holding off to see what Black Friday brings

Trying to decide to go this route for the 5D M3, or buy from canon refurbished with 10% off via the canon loyalty program.. both ways end up being almost the exact same price.. Does anyone have an opinion on which way to go?

If they’re the same price, I’d go for the new body with this deal.

Refurbished bodies are mostly great, but a bit of a lottery: most refurbs have very few shutter actuations, but occasionally get you get one with thousands.

By sending in a broken canon camera.. can even be an older point and shoot.

I bought my entire EOS-M set (body, 22mm, 18-55mm, adapter) from Big Value Inc (BVI). No complaints at all. Everything I got was (or appears to be) new, just white box. I saved a bundle, though. Fine by me.

And I’ve owned Canon cameras and lenses since 1977 and have never had to send something in for repair. I’ll take the savings over the tiny chance of Canon not honoring the warranty any day.

If I were in the market for a 5D MkIII, I’d buy it from BVI without hesitation.

Ugh tough choice: go with this, or buy a nice lens and wait for possible 7d mark ii

I learned long ago to never trust the rumors — haven’t they been rumoring the 7D Mark II for years, along with the 24-70 f/2.8 IS?

My current camera I bought last Black Friday, with BigValueInc, on ebay. It is a T3i. All the transaction went smoothly. I got my camera in just a few days after buying it. Perfect brand new condition. I was/am very happy with it.

How do we set a notification to get emailed on when the deals begin? Is this an eBay feature?

Sorry, this link is missing from the Facebook post. http://www.canonpricewatch.com/blog/get-notified/

I would get new from BVI. I got 5d mIII with royalty program and it had more than 6000 shutter count.

In really am leaning on buying my 5D mkiii through BVI but do they sell extended warranties too? Or is there a better place to buy it (third party)

You can buy an extended warranty from BVI at the time you buy the body, on eBay.
